A cleaning expert said you could save yourself hundreds of pounds if you focus on cleaning one household appliance.
Many people love the feeling of emptying their washing basket, and getting their clothes in tip-top condition, but they may not realise it's also vital to keep their washing machines clean too.
If you fail to keep your appliance spick and pan it could encourage mould and dirt to develop, which could lead to setting you back hundreds of pounds.

When you throw your clothes in the machine, grubby bits and bobs can come off, and end up at the drum of the machine.
This can lead to a lot of damage being done and, if the appliance breaks, it could set you back hundreds of pounds to replace it.
To help fight the grime, a kitchen expert at Curry’s shared simple tips to help you ensure it stays spotless.
She told Express: "Please don't take your hard-working appliance for granted. Give it a little TLC now and again, and you'll get years of great service in return."
Lara said the best way to rid nasty particles and bacteria is to set the appliance on a maintenance wash.
All you need to do is add a cleaning solution to the machine, and set it to run on a cotton cycle.
Once you've done this, set the machine to the hottest cycle possible and turn it on.
When the cycle finishes simply pull back the seal, and rid any debris or water that remains in the machine.
Lara added: "This will stop any sludge or black spots of mould building up inside your door seal, and it'll also stop any nasty smells.
"Perhaps most importantly, it helps increase the life of your washing machine.
"If you've run out of washing machine cleaning solution, you can make your own.
"Use two cups of white vinegar, half a cup of water, and a quarter cup of bicarbonate of soda. Mix well before using it."
She also said it's essential to thoroughly clean the detergent drawer after each wash.
To do this, all you need to do is soak it in hot, soapy water – and you can get rid of any excess debris by using a small brush.
It's also advised you clean the filter every four to six weeks.
You can remove it from the machine, and simply put a few towels down to clean up any excess water that comes out.
Simply let it soak in hot water before putting it back in.
Lara said soda crystals are usually best for cleaning the drum, as it's really good for trying to get out dirt and stains.
