We can’t deny we love a platinum moment, and with blonde hair having something of a moment right now (thanksBarbie), more people than ever are reaching for the bleach to get a gorgeous white blonde shade.
Although platinum locks are a bold beauty choice, they don’t come without problems, as excessive bleaching and styling can cause your hair to become dry, brittle and lacklustre thanks to the damage caused by over processing and chemical treatments.
That’s why if you’ve been considering going blonde – or blonder – it’s key to make sure you have a solid haircare routine that helps keep your hair glossy, healthy and strong.
One celeb who’s no stranger to a platinum look is Denise Van Outen, who is known for her signature white blonde locks. However, in an Instagram post that she shared with her 705k followers, the actress admitted that years of bleaching, over-styling and long stints in the sun abroad, not to mention hormonal changes that come with age, have all taken their toll on her hair, leading to increased hair shedding and breakage.
However, it seems Denise has found an answer, as she shared she’d been using the Hair Gain Nourishing Miracle Treatment Hair Mask, £32 here, on her hair, and had already noticed significantly less shedding and damage.
“My hair feels so much fuller”, she said, adding: “It looks thicker, and there’s more volume!”
The nourishing treatment contains an ingredient called AnaGain, which is derived from organic pea shoots and is responsible for the mask's slightly shocking bright green shade.
AnaGain helps to stimulate your hair follicles and reactivate hair growth and helps to prolong the life cycle of your hair, encouraging it to grow thicker and stronger and increase its vitality.
Its restorative formula also includes Panthenol, which helps nourish your hair from root to tip to prevent damage and improve shine, with the mask also helping protect against styling choices, including protection against heat damage, colour fading and split ends.
During her Instagram video, Denise spreads the bright green mask through her hair from top to bottom before smoothing it back into a ponytail and leaving it to work its magic. After washing it off, she shows off her hair, which looks smoother and sleeker, gushing: “It’s hydrated, it looks glossier, and feels soft to touch”.
Denise’s followers rushed to the comments to share their own experience using the mask, with one fan tagging their friend and saying: “This is what I was telling you about. I’ve been using it and it really works.”
Another wrote: “I love that it’s green as I can see where I’m putting it. Oh the joys of Merry Menopause, I think our hair goes through it in the Winter too with central heating so I’m going to give it a go.”
You can snap up the Hair Gain Nourishing Miracle Treatment Hair Mask, £32 here, or set up a monthly subscription for it through Hair Gain’s website, which costs you just £25.60 here.
