Donald Trump is best known for co-hosting and producing reality TV series The Apprentice between 2004 and 2015, and later becoming the President of the United States. What is his net worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Donald Trump’s net worth is a whopping $2billion (around £1.7billion).

But how did the former president come into his extraordinary wealth?

Before his presidency, Donald Trump had an extremely lucrative business career.

In 1968, Trump was employed at his father Fred’s real estate company, Trump Management, which owned middle-class rental housing in New York City’s outer boroughs.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, at his time of death in 1999, Donald’s father, Fred Trump boasted a net worth of $200million (around £169million).

In 1971, Donald became president of his father’s company and began using The Trump Organisation as an umbrella brand.

In 1985, Trump acquired the Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, where his daughter Tiffany got married at the weekend.

Paying customers can be members at the “ultra exclusive” Mar-a-Lago Club, which boasts an oceanfront swimming pool and Beach Club, spa, six championship tennis courts, a croquet court, a chip and putt golf course, a fitness centre and entertainment space.

Donald also acquired his wealth on The Apprentice, reportedly earning $427million directly and in licensing deals.

Donald Trump won the presidential election in 2016, beating Hilary Clinton at the final hurdle.

As President, Donald’s annual salary was reportedly $400,000 (almost £338,000).

However, according to Forbes, Trump donated this salary to various causes.

In 2017, he donated to the Department of Interior’s National Park Service (NPS) and the Department of Education to host a free, two-week space camp for 30 low-income, middle school girls.

In the same year he donated to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), in support of their public awareness campaign surrounding opium addiction, and another sum to the Department of Transportation.

In 2018, Donald donated to the Veteran’s Administration, Small Business Administration, National Institutes of Health’s National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and Department of Homeland Security.

The following year, the former President gave his salary to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Surgeon General, HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health and HHS, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health.

In 2020, Trump gave to the HHS (Health and Human Services) to develop the treatment and prevention of Covid, and paid towards repairs on national monuments.

Trump was defeated by Joe Biden, who became the 46th President of the United States in January 2021.

Speculation as to whether Donald will run in the 2024 election continues, as the former president teased a “very big announcement” for November 15.
