Most Kardashian followers will instantly recognise Chris Appleton for his work on Kim Kardashian’s hair. Chris has been her go-to stylist for years now, creating some of her most iconic hair looks (hello, wet look MET Gala 2019 waves).
Now Chris has turned his attention to Charlie’s Angels actress Drew Barrymore to give her a, quite frankly, show stopping beauty transformation for her Drew Barrymore Show. Chris is also joined by makeup legend Charlotte Tilbury, who steps in to cover the makeup side of the glam look.
“You won’t believe how @charlottetilbury and I gave @drewbarrymore a complete GLAM makeover. So what do you guys think?” Chris captions the new Instagram grid post video.
The transition clip shows Drew, 47, going from mid-length brunette hair to incredibly Khloe Kardashian-like blonde waist-length waves. Makeup-wise it seems Tilbury’s Pillow Talk is a key theme of the look, as Drew is sporting some soft-focus eyeshadow and blusher in Charlotte’s instantly recognisable pink shade.
Fans did indeed seem to love the transformation and the iconic pairing of Chris and Charlotte, with many praising the duo on their abilities, and Drew on looking incredible…
One fan enthusiastically comments: “Omgggg!!! I miss your blonde sooo much! You’re gorgeous either way but wow!!”
“I didn’t even realise it was her! Wow!! I’m next!” a second says.
A third writes: “Is it just me or does she look like a Kardashian?”
The video was originally posted to Chris’s TikTok page, which has become an absolute hub of helpful hair tips as of late. Just the other month, one of Chris’ styling videos on how to make fine hair look extra thick in a ponytail went viral, with plenty of fans thanking the celeb hairstylist for sharing the surprisingly simple hack.
“Try this hair hack for any one that wants to make their hair look thicker and upgrade your pony game,” he captions the video.
He starts by sectioning the hair in two, splitting the bulk in half just above the tops of the model’s ears. He then takes the top section of hair and ties it into a ponytail with an elastic band.
Then, he takes the remaining section of hair and ties it up with the first ponytail, incorporating both sections of hair into one pony. The result is a swishy, layered-looking updo.
We can see why Drew and Kim are keen to keep Chris on hand for events!
