‘Dungeons & Dragons’ Series Sets Rawson Marshall Thurber to Oversee for eOne

Rawson Marshall Thurber will creatively oversee Entertainment One’s upcoming live action “Dungeons & Dragons” series, a rep for eOne confirmed to Variety. Thurber will write and direct the pilot script and executive produce the series, which is based on the popular fantasy role-playing game franchise published by Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro.

The one-hour series will be one of the one of the first projects in the “Dungeons & Dragons” TV universe that has been in planning stages at eOne since the indie studio was acquired by Hasbro in 2020. eOne recently finished production on an untitled “Dungeons & Dragons” feature film being jointly produced and financed with Paramount. The film was written and directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley and was the first project as part of a first look deal between eOne and former Marvel Studios executive producer Jeremy Latcham. eOne will distribute in the UK and Canada, while Paramount distributes in the rest of world.

Most recently, Thurber wrote, directed and produced “Red Notice,” Netflix’s 2021 action film starring Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. His other prominent credits include directing and writing “Central Intelligence,” directing “We’re the Millers” and writing and directing “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.”

Thurber is represented by WME and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller & Gellman.
