If you’ve been dying to get your hands on a Charlotte Tilbury contour wand but the price and the constant sold-out status of the product make purchasing one a little tricky, we might have just the alternative for you.
Today, bargain beauty brand Elf announces the launch of a contour wand that looks similar in packaging and formula to Tilbury’s cult favourite£30 contour product. The Halo Glow Beauty Wand,£9 here, comes in five shade choices to suit all skin tones and features a precision cushion-tip applicator to make it easy to achieve an even contour.
The lightweight liquid bronzer formula is infused with squalane to give your skin a flattering semi-sheer appearance, while the pigmented colour blends perfectly into the hollows of your cheeks, jawline, temples, hairline, and sides of your nose to give your complexion a defined look.
If you’re searching for a review of how similar the Elf buy is to Charlotte Tilbury’s pricier wand, you only need to scroll through TikTok for the content. UserKelly Strackhas a top-likedvideotitled: “Putting the new elf halo glow beauty wands to the test next to the charlotte tilbury beauty wands to see if they’re a dupe” – and her side-by-side comparison of the two gives you a good picture of how they compare.
“I’m using the shade light/medium in the Elf wand and it is a little lighter than the light Charlotte Tilbury shade, but Elf does have five shades available while Charlotte Tilbury only has two,” she explains.
Kelly’s comparison has sparked a debate in the comment section with several Tilbury fans claiming the product isn’t a great dupe, with one writing: “I like the CT side better, but only because you didn’t keep blending the elf blush enough and you put too much on.”
Meanwhile, others say they “prefer” the Elf formula, with one noting: “Elf looks so much better and pigmented than the Charlotte Tilbury.”
We’ll let you make your own mind up about the dupe status of the £9 wand. However, if you do end up loving the effect of the lower-cost contour wand, you might also be interested in trying out the brand’s newly-launched Halo Glow Blush Wands,£9 here, and Halo Glow Highlight Wands, also£9 here.
