I had a brilliant time at the Caudwell Children Butterfly Ball fundraiser at the Roundhouse in London. It’s always such a lovely event. I’m very proud to be an ambassador for the charity Caudwell Children, and it was an honour to attend.
I went along with my brother, Will, and we had a great evening. It was nice to spend a bit of time together.
The charity raised an incredible amount of money on the night. It was about £1.5 million, which is absolutely amazing. Every penny goes directly towards helping children and their families, and it can be life-changing for disabled children.
It was really nice to get dressed up for the occasion, but I must admit, I always find walking the red carpet really nerve-racking. It can feel quite overwhelming with all the cameras, but I do it because I know it’s for a good cause, and because it’s a lovely evening. I get the scary bit out of the way, and then I can relax and enjoy it.
We’ve also started getting ready for Christmas in our house. We’ve put the decorations up, so we’re definitely getting into the festive spirit.
We don’t really go that big with the decorations – we do have two trees, but other than that, we don’t go too crazy.
We don’t do the outside of the house or anything like that, because I don’t even know how we’d start!
I’ve done a bit of Christmas shopping, but I’ve still got a bit to go yet, although I don’t tend to buy the kids loads of stuff anyway.
They love their stockings the most, it’s their favourite part of the day. We’re all really excited about Christmas.
I love this time of the year. We do Elf on the Shelf with the children – and the elves arrived last week, which Millie and Theo are very excited about.

Dr Alex Is Combating The Stigma
Dr Alex George has been praised for sharing a post in which he revealed he’s taking medication to treat his anxiety. He posted a picture of the tablet he takes and said he wants to break the stigma.
It’s absolutely brilliant that Dr Alex has been so honest about it. He’s got his own personal story after sadly losing his brother Llyr last year, so I think it’s really inspirational that he’s had the courage to share his own journey with mental health.
I work in mental health, so I think anyone who shares their story and their journey with their own mental health diagnosis is great.
Much as I like to hope it’s getting better and people are becoming more understanding, there’s definitely still a stigma around mental health problems. And there are still some people who, sadly, feel a sense of shame.
I’m sure Dr Alex’s post has encouraged many others to feel like they can share their own story.
We Need More Info About The New Variant
There’s been a lot of talk in the news about the spread of the new Omicron coronavirus variant. Face coverings are mandatory again in shops and on public transport, and people are being encouraged to get booster jabs.
They use words in the news that can sound quite scary, like “mutation” and “deadly”. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the important thing to remember is all viruses mutate, that’s what they do.
It’s the same with the flu, for example, which is why we have a flu vaccine every year. We have to live with the fact that this virus is going to mutate.
We just need more information about how infectious and dangerous the new variant is, and once we know that, it will be helpful in terms of what we do going forward.
I had my booster jab last week. Luckily, I felt fine after my first and second vaccine, and this time was no different.
There’s a really big vaccination rollout and, in my experience, it’s very accessible. I had to travel about 20 minutes or so for mine, so it wasn’t too bad at all.
