Emmerdale’s Mary star Louise Jameson’s life off screen from sons to divorce

Emmerdale star Louise Jameson’s character Mary Goskirk is currently embroiled in a very dramatic storyline that’s seen her be knocked out by her lesbian love interest Faye.

Mary’s romance turned nasty when she began to suspect that her lover, who she had helped organise a charity fundraiser, had actually pocketed the money for herself.

As fans wait to see if Mary will survive her dangerous liaison with Faye, we take a look at the actress’, who joined the show just last year, off-screen love life.

Although it isn’t quite as dramatic, actress Louise Jameson has had some romantic ups and downs.

The 72 year old actress has two sons – Harry and Tom – who were born before she shot to fame and whose father have never been identified.

Louise has rarely spoken out about her experience of motherhood, but did joke that her being a well known actress gave her sons some “kudos” as teenagers.

In the 1980s, Louise met artist Martin Bedford while she was filming drama series Bergerac and the pair dated for a few years before tying the knot in 1990.

The couple reportedly married in a quiet ceremony at a Church near Louise’s home town in Kent and her two sons were said to be in attendance.

However, it wasn’t to last and Martin and Louise called it quits in 1997.

The actress opened up about the split in an interview, when she confessed that they had both become “careless of one another’s feelings and no longer put each other first.”

The 72 year old admitted that she still missed Martin from time to time and that they had had some good times together despite the difficulty.

After splitting with Martin, the star was linked to a handful of other famous faces.

It’s believed that Louise used to date fellow Doctor Who star Robert Ashby, who is also the son of former Pakistan Prime Minister Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy.

However, it’s not clear when they split up and Robert tragically passed away in 2019.

Louise then dated another Doctor Who connection in the form of her romance with David Warwick, who played Kimus.

The couple first met when Louise was playing Leela in the 70s and the pair wound up voicing Doctor Who Audio Stories together some three decades later in 2004.

However it’s thought that Louise, who wowed Emmerdale fans with her transformation, is currently a single woman.
