Euro 2021: Best food and drink freebies and discounts to celebrate England's semi-final victory

WHAT a victory it was last night, as England beat Denmark at the Euro 2020 semi-finals.

Football fans will now be looking to continue celebrations of the Three Lion's win, maybe with a takeaway or a couple of beers.

But lots of us will have splashed out at the pub last night as the goals came in, and are now looking to avoid spending a fortune on food and drink.

Luckily, you can get your hands on some slashed prices and even freebies that brands are giving away in the spirit of football and the nation's excitement.

You can pick up free food from sausage rolls to doughnuts as well as save massive amounts on your next pizza order, in deals that are running for the short celebration period.

The next and final match kicks off on Sunday at 8pm, when the home team takes onItaly, but in the meantime there are plenty of deals and discounts that foodies can take advantage of.

How to find top bargain deals

FINDING deals and offers can be tricky if you don’t know where to look.

Here's a list of hacks you can use to become a bargain hunting pro and save on your shopping bill:

Join Facebook groups – Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, Latest Deals and Reduce Your Supermarket Spend are all Facebook groups helping you reduce your spending and find good deals

Get following – Follow your favourite shops on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and sign up to its newsletters to get the latest on any offers

Check hotukdeals – The deal-sharing website lists offers as they're spotted by savvy shoppers

Use barcode scanners – Retailers such as B&M let shoppers scan the barcodes on its app to see if it's actually cheaper than the price listed on the shelf

We've come up with a list of brands that are offering out freebies or massive money-off opportunities before the next game.

But you'll have to be quick to cash in, as lots of the deals are only running until the game Sunday.

Get a FREE sausage roll with Greggs

If you spend over £5 at Greggs you can get a free sausage roll on Just Eat.

Once you've spent the minimum amount, Just Eat will let you add your freebie.

It can only be claimed once per order, but you can order as many times as you like and claim the freebie, as long as you're spending at least £5 each time.

There's no end date yet on this offer, so while most eateries are closed Sunday morning, you'll be able to get a head start on game day celebrations with the Greggs freebie.

The bakery giant is also offering an exclusive football offer called the "deal of two halves" for £8, including four savoury bakes and four doughnuts too.

The deal works out to be £1 per item which is around 20p cheaper than a regular sausage roll alone would cost or roughly 80p cheaper than any of the bakes each too.

Get a FREE dozen from Krispy Kreme

Now that England are through to the last Euros match, Krispy Kreme is offering a final giveaway of doughnuts.

The dessert shop has run the promo twice already, offing a dozen doughnuts for free on match days that England have competed in.

You have to go into a store on Sunday to redeem and mention the "Match Day" offer to a member of staff.

You also have to buy another dozen at full price to get the freebie, but this works out as 24 doughnuts for the price of 12 usually costing £19.90, but only around a tenner with the promotion.

You can order online as well by adding the "Match Day Buy One Gift One Free" product to your basket, but you need to place an order to click and collect by 2pm on Saturday.

You can't get the promo deal delivered though.

Claim the hat-trick deal at Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut is offering a football exclusive deal on Just Eat named after the iconic three strike move in the game.

The deal, similarly, entitles you to three large pizzas for £29.99, which ultimately works out to be just shy of £10 per pizza.

Normally one large pizza would cost around £17.50 from the restaurant on Just Eat, so you could save almost £8 per pizza or £22.50 overall.

Almost all the pizzas are included too, so you can take your pick from Margarita to Texas BBQ and all things in between.

The hat-trick deal is available exclusively on Just Eat so you won't be able to get the price anywhere else.

Get 20% off ice cream with Deliveroo

Deliveroo is offering a promotion on "Half-time Treats" where you can get 20% off sweet goodies.

One example of the promotion is that you'll be able to get 20% off Ben and Jerry's Tubs and Magnum ice creams from vendors like The Ice Cream store.

Usually the tubs can cost £6.50 but the promotion means they'll only be £5.20 to buy.

The deal is subject to availability and ends on Sunday, plus you'll need to have a minimum basket order of £12.50 to qualify.

You'll also have to factor in extra delivery costs that are charged on Deliveroo – these usually start from around £2 but it depends on where you live

40% off £35 spend at Dominoes

It's not exclusively a football deal, but if you're planning on throwing a pizza bash in celebration of the win, then Dominoes has you covered on large or group orders.

You can get 40% off a £35 spend at the pizza delivery giant for a limited time.

Head to the Dominoes site and click on deals to activate the voucher.

There's no end date currently for the deal so you should be able to claim it all through the weekend of football celebrations, and you can use the voucher as many times as you like, but only once per order.

The money-off excludes combos, chicken boxes, drinks and ice cream though.

25% off "It's coming (to your) home" beer pack

You can get 25% off a mega pack of 24 beers at Brew Hawk in this football bundle deal.

The pack usually costs £35 which works out to be £1.46 per beer, but with the discount it's only £26.25, and only £1.09 per beer.

Beer Hawk introduced the mega-pack of English beers to help keep your fridge topped up for the rest of the tournament.

All you have to do is use "COMINGHOME" in the promo code box at the checkout to claim.

The pack includes top names like Camden Pale Ale too which usually costs £5.50 to buy from Tesco – nearly £1.40 per can.

It means you could save at least £1.30 on just those four beers included in the pack alone.

30% off Morrisons' Champagne

Morrisons has slashed the price of its fizz by 30%, in an offer that's running from now until Sunday.

You'll be able to buy the Heidsieck and Co Monopole Blue Top Brut Champagne in store at the supermarket but the discount isn't running online.

It's available to grab for the price of £19.66 which is an £8.34 saving from its usual full price of £28.

The new price of the fizz is designed to reflect England’s last international tournament success at the 1966 World Cup.

The bubbly deal could be the perfect choice for those ‘ choosing to watch the match at home, rather than heading to the pub.

Loads of other supermarkets and chains are offering deals to celebrate the Euros too.

But pubs in England are already fully booked for the final too, so some of the cheap takeaway options we've listed might be a better option.

meanwhile, England Euro shirts are being flogged for £500 online amid the excitement and the fact that Sports Direct and JD Sports have completely sold out.
