Everything Amber Heard has shared about her baby daughter Oonagh Paige

Amber Heard welcomed baby daughter Oonagh Paige via a surrogate in April 2021 after learning she was unable to carry children of her own, according to friends.

The actress, 36, who has been making headlines due to her ongoing court case with ex husband Johnny Depp, shared the news of her daughter’s birth on Instagram last year.

Posted alongside a snap of her holding her sleeping baby she penned: “I’m so excited to share this news with you. Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms.”

“I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way. I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalised to not want a ring in order to have a crib. A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business.”

“I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this. My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life.”

Since announcing the birth Amber has not made any mention of Oonagh’s father or whether a sperm donor was used.

Though she insisted she is enough as both mother and father to her daughter and posted a snap of the pair and captioned it: “I’m just the mom and the dad. She’s the boss.”

To celebrate Paige’s first birthday Amber shared a picture of the duo with her 4.3 million Instagram fans.

She wrote: “My little O is a year old today. I still can’t believe you’re here. The greatest year.”

Amber also posted a picture of herself cradling her daughter with the caption: “Me and my co-pilot.”

The sweet meaning behind Amber’s choice for her daughter’s name is a homage to her mother who passed away in May 2020.

At the time she shared a message on Instagram: “I am heartbroken and devastated beyond belief at the loss of my mom, Paige Heard. She left us too early, clasping onto the memory of her beautiful, gentle soul. She will be missed from the very depths of our hearts forever.”

The actress is currently facing ex Johnny Depp, 58, in court during a defamation trial.
