A relationship expert shockingly revealed you should imagine separating from your partner and even divorcing them to know if they’re the one you.
Influencer and podcaster Christina Najjar, known online as Tinx, 31, from Los Angeles, California, has been dubbed as ‘TikTok’s older sister’, and regularly shares advice on relationships and mental health to her over 1.5 million followers.
Most recently, the 31-year-old shared an email she received from an unnamed relationship expert who offered up some advice on how to make a romance last – and how to know whether the relationship is truly meant to be.
Among the advice, the relationship expert advised that you should ask yourself what ‘piece of clothing’ in your closet your partner is and most surprisingly, explained that ‘imagining divorce’ is a surefire way to know whether or not your significant other is right for you.
The beginning of the email reads: ‘Love/infatuation is like a drug and it fades after three to four years. When dating someone ask yourself: Would I want to be both married and divorced to this person?’

Next the couples specialist encouraged those in relationships or dating to visualize divorcing their partner.
They then added it would be ‘cool to be divorced’ if someone is of ‘strong character.’
Similarly, James Sexton, a divorce lawyer in New York, wrote a piece for TIME magazine where he shared that couples should always ‘talk about divorce’ as soon as when someone gets on one knee.
He explained that talking about divorce once the ring is on your finger is the most ‘romantic [and] committed thing you and your fiancé could be doing.’
Sexton added that people should talk about divorce right after getting engaged because they have the utmost amount of affection for each other, thus they can attempt to solve any future problems that may arise.
He concluded by emphasizing his top three tips for when discussing divorce before you’re even married.
Sexton’s points of conversation included, why you would get a divorce, ‘how to prevent a divorce’ and what you would ‘need’ from your partner if you did divorce.
Similarly, Tinx’s relationship expert detailed that you should have breakup conversations early on as well as conversations about ‘kids, finances and ‘where you want to live.’
Next, the unnamed specialist advised all couples should have a ‘breakup consultation call’ where they ask each other what ‘piece of clothing’ they would be in each other’s closets.
To avoid breaking up the expert noted that couples should spend five minutes checking in with each other and questioning how they could ‘better support’ one another.
The influencer’s relationship expert concluded the email by explaining: ‘In a breakup, both people mourn, some amount of that mourning happens during the relationship for one or both parties.’
Tinx shared the email on her Instagram Story and revealed that she would dive deeper on the topic in her podcast It’s Me, Tinx.
The upcoming podcast will answer viewers burning relationship questions while discussing all things intimacy while touching on her most recent podcast that detailed how to have ‘mind-blowing sex.’
