For 10 years (yes 10 years!) we’ve been watching people watch TV for fun, and boy, has it been a wild ride.
When Gogglebox first began back in March 2013, a handful of regular households across the UK instantly shot to fame with their hilarious one liners and loveable personalities.
From the Moffatt family, whose sarcastic daughter Scarlett has enjoyed a successful TV career thanks to the series to the controversial Sandwich couple, Steph and Dom, many of the original cast members are hard to forget.
But like any TV show, people come and go to make way for new talent (hello, Sophie and Pete, Giles and Mary), and plenty of the OG Goggleboxers have gone their separate ways to pursue new projects and opportunities.

Speaking of which, let’s take a look at some of the former families and see what they’re up to now…
Steph and Dom Parker
Who could forget posh Kent couple Steph and Dom, who were literally never seen without a G&T in their hands?
The minute they appeared on the show they became instant hits, mainly thanks to their controversial opinions and hysterical one-liners.
But after joining the cast in 2013, the couple decided to call it quits in 2017 so that they could concentrate on different projects.
From appearing on Four in a Bed, where viewers got an access-all-areas tour of their hotel The Salutation to going on to host their own radio show, Steph and Dom were even granted a TV show – The Great Hotel Escape, which followed families who had decided to open up hotels.
Plus, they also hosted a show called Steph and Dom’s One Star to Five Star.
In terms of social media, the couple aren’t particularly active on their joint Instagram account, and haven’t posted anything since October last year.
The Moffatts
County Durham family the Moffatts provided all the laughs during their time on the show, mainly thanks to daughter Scarlett’s witty personality.
The 32 year old – who is now pregnant with her first child – is probably one of the biggest success stories to come from the show.
After only appearing on Gogglebox for two years, Scarlett quit to compete in 2016’s I’m a Celeb, which she went on to win.
Since then, she has gone on to become one of the most loveable TV personalities in the country, bagging presenting roles on This Morning, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, plus a roving reporter gig at the 2017 NTAs.
Scarlett also made appearances on Celebrity Juice, Celebrity Bake Off, First Dates and Through The Keyhole.
As well as this, the star revived dating show Streetmate in 2017 and since 2020 has presented a BBC Radio 1 podcast with her boyfriend Scott Dobinson, called 'Scarlett Moffatt Wants to Believe'.
Sandra Martin and Sandi Bogle
BFFs Sandra and Sandi were absolutely hilarious on the show, and left fans heartbroken when the duo went their separate ways.
While Sandi decided to quit in 2017, Sandra continued with a new companion, her daughter, Chanchez.
Sandra has also dabbled in other TV shows thanks to her Gogglebox fame, namely Celebrity Fat Fighters, Celebrity 100% Hotter and Celebs on the Farm.
She also entered the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2017 but was the sixth person to be evicted.
The Tapper family
Mum, Nikki, dad, Jonathan, and brother and sister duo Josh and Amy were also OG Gogglebox cast members.
The Tappers constantly kept us entertained with their bantering and their bickering, and solidified themselves as firm favourites.
However, Josh quit the show in 2017 after he won a place on the Government Communications Scheme. After two years of working at number 10 as a campaign assistant and assistant campaign manager for the Prime Minister's Office and Cabinet Office, Josh left after bagging a new job.
In 2018, Amy also left the show so she could take part in Celebs Go Dating, which resulted in the rest of the family calling it quits.
These days, Jonathan works as a chauffeur and Nikki works as a nursery teacher, and Josh looks to be travelling the world with his partner.
George Gilbey and his mum and stepdad
Series two welcomed George Gilbey, his mum Linda and his stepdad, Pete McGarry.
The family weren’t on the show for as long as some of the other members, after George decided to leave to appear on Celebrity Big Brother.
While he ended up finishing in fourth place, the TV personality struck up a relationship with B*Witched singer, Edele Lynche during his stint in the house.
The family then reappeared on the show in 2016, but had limited air time due to a string of controversies.
Then in 2019, George was jailed for three months after being convicted of drink driving.
Pete sadly died in June 2021 after a short illness at the age of 71.
Leon and June Bernicoff
The UK’s adopted grandparents, Leon and June were Gogglebox icons. Before joining the show when it began, the couple had been together for six decades.
From their witty remarks to Leon’s hilarious rants, Britain was left heartbroken when he passed away in 2017 aged 83.
Following Leon’s passing, June made the decision to leave the show, and appeared on This Morning the following year for her first TV interview since her husband’s death.
On how she was coping, June said: “At first it was just the sadness because you’re just remembering the last few days he was really ill, whereas going back to when we met and all the fun we had. There was lots of fun to be had.”
“We always had a lot of fun. Growing in our jobs, having our families. Quite honestly, I can’t remember life without him.”
The Gogglebox star went on to write a book about their sweet love story, titled: Leon and June: Our Story.
Unfortunately, June also passed away at the age of 81 in May 2020 following a short illness.
Chris Ashby-Steed
Before it was Stephen and Daniel, it was Stephen and Chris. The ex-partners appeared on the show together and became popular members of the cast, before Chris left in 2018.
The pair had already split up before this but had remained friends for a while and carried on filming the show together.
However, Chris opened up about falling out with his former partner in 2019. He revealed that the two experienced a TV deal falling through.
Chris then said that Gogglebox producers had let them continue filming with different partners, but he was later told that his suggestion wasn’t going to work out.
Jay Makin
‘Silent Jay’ didn’t even have to say anything and he became a fan favourite. The then-boyfriend of Eve Woerdenweber, he appeared alongside her family, mum, Viv, and dad, Ralf until 2015.
But viewers were shocked when he left that year, learning that he’d split with Eve.
Jay spoke to The Sun at the time, revealing: “I’m gutted that Eve broke up with me. It came completely out of the blue.”
“We had a few problems and started drifting apart but I thought it was down to the pressure of the show and her business. We argued too much and she said couldn’t cope with it.”
Kate and Graham Bottley
Vicar Kate and her husband Graham first landed on our screens during series five. Despite leaving just a year later, Kate especially made a name for herself.
Now, she’s regularly heard on the radio, where she presents the Radio 2 segment, Pause For Thought.
She’s also featured on Songs Of Praise, presented BBC One’s main Easter programme in 2016 and hosted Radio 4’s Prayer For The Day.
Kate is regularly active on social media and boasts a respectable 104K followers on Instagram. From posting about her work to sharing general life moments with her family, the former Goggleboxer looks to be living life to the full.
Tom Malone Jr
The Malones joined the show in 2014 and instantly became hits thanks to Tom Snr’s dry wit, mum Julie’s tendency to get the giggles, their massive Rottweilers and the treats that never get eaten.
However, in 2021, Tom Jnr announced his departure from the show due to “new opportunities” he wanted to pursue.
Now, he’s a dancer and member of a break dancing crew, plus, an advocate for autism.
Of course, fans will know that the rest of the Malones’ are still on the show, continuing to make us laugh.
