Friends is the iconic show which has never lost its allure and charm, but in the 17 year since it has ended, the stars of the show haven’t been without their heartache.
Here’s a look at the ups and downs the Friends stars have experienced since parting ways…
Lisa Kudrow
Lisa, who played Phoebe Buffay, recently grinned from ear to ear as her son graduated from university in California.
The 57 year old shared a very sweet image with her 23 year old son, and it goes to show just how long it has been since Friends aired, as Lisa was pregnant with Julia while filming the fourth series of Fiends.
Lisa has been married to her businessman husband Michel Stern for 26 years and they live together in Beverly Hills.
Discussing Michel in the past, Lisa said: “I don’t know if you’d characterise me as uptight, but I understood what it is to be so afraid of sex – of your sexuality. For me it was just, ‘No, I’m saving myself because I have to make myself worthy of the kind of man I have in mind’.”
Lisa has not only had a successful marriage but an amazing career too, with the star continuing to act in both films and shows, including Feel Good which is set to return to Netflix for a second series.
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston became a household name during and after starring in Friends and she is now, undeniably, one of the most famous stars in the world.
The gorgeous 52 year old, known in Friends for her role as Rachel Green, was swooned after by many during her time on the hit show and her iconic love story with Ross has gone down in the history books.
Off-screen, however, Jen hasn’t been as lucky in love.
The star split from husband Brad Pitt in 2005 after seven years of being together, and she then went on to marry actor Justin Theroux but they divorced in 2017 after two years together.
The gorgeous star is very happy with her own company it seems, and five years ago she wrote that women “are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child”.
Matt LeBlanc
How you doing! The much-loved Joey Tribbiani, played by Matt LeBlanc, was a notorious ladies man.
Off-screen, Matt dated various famous names, including actresses Minnie Driver and Kate Hudson, and porn star Jenna Jameson.
However Matt found love when he met former model Melissa McKnight, but when they split in 2006 he didn’t take it well.
Matt and Melissa split after he was caught getting too close to a stripper on a night out, and the actor said he hardly left the house for years afterwards, calling it a “very dark time.”
The actor is now dating BBC producer Aurora Mulligan and he’s thrown himself back into the world of acting, and recently produced the US sitcom Man With A Plan.
It was recently revealed that Matt hadn’t spoken to his dad for years after a “petty row.”
Matt’s 79 year old father has spoken out about their “petty” row after giving away a motorbike which has led to him being cut off from his celebrity son, despite his best efforts to make amends.
It is believed that the last time the pair spoke was in 2011, after Matt bought his father a house in Colorado and gave him a regular allowance.
Matt himself is a doting dad to his 16 year old daughter Marina, who he shares with ex wife Melissa.
Courteney Cox
Courteney Cox, 56, who played Monica, shares a beautiful daughter Coco, 16, with her former husband David Arquette.
Courteney had struggles with IVF and sadly endured seven miscarriages as a result.
The actress has discussed her miscarriage before while looking back to a time when she was working on Friends.
She said: “I remember one time I just had a miscarriage and Rachel was giving birth. It was like that same time. Oh my God, it was terrible having to be funny.”
Courteney’s divorce from David was finalised in 2013, and she’s now in a relationship with Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny McDaid, 44, but they spent a chunk of the pandemic apart due to Courteney living in LA and Johnny in London.
Recently, the star is believed to have moved to the UK to be with Johnny.
On the work front, Courteney has continued to act and she also owns Coquette Productions, a film and television production company, with her husband David.
David Schwimmer
David Schwimmer, 54, who plays Ross in Friends, has continued to act and he’s ha success in he Sky sitcom Intelligence, 2019 movie The Laundromat, with Meryl Streep, and you’ll also recognise him as the voice of Melman in Madagascar.
The star also directed and shot the 2007 Simon Pegg comedy Run Fatboy Run.
In his romantic life, David married British artist Zoe Buckman in 2010 but they divorced seven years later.
At the time, David put a statement out saying: “It is with great love, respect and friendship that we have decided to take some time apart.”
Friends
The pair share a daughter named Cleo who is ten, and it seems Ross and Zoe have remained pals and are pictured on a Black Lives Matter march last year.
David also dated Australian singer-actress Natalie Imbruglia, but he has mostly been private about his love life.
Matthew Perry
Matthew Perry, 51, who plays Chandler Bing, is set to marry literary manager Molly Hurwitz and fans have been left very excited about their engagement.
The star, who has also dated Julia Roberts in the past, had a very bumpy ride after leaving Friends and he’s endured a very public battle with drugs and drink.
Recently, however, a source told The Sun that Matthew is “doing well.”
They continued: “Matthew is doing well. Molly is very supportive and he has a tight-knit team around him.”
Matthew has since admitted that he was “out of it” for Friends series three to six, and despite not acting for more than a decade the star will be appearing in forthcoming Netflix black comedy Don’t Look Up, with Leonardo DiCaprio.
