Cornwall boasts a stunning landscape of idyllic sandy beaches, wild moorland, rugged coastlines and picturesque harbour villages – making it the perfect home for anyone wishing to live a peaceful, quaint life.

One infuriated man, however, has had his peace and privacy interrupted by a plethora of poo problems from dog owners who frequently pass by his home.

The homeowner – who hasn’t been identified – has been noticing the same bold owners using his wheelie bin as a disposal point for their pet’s mess.

In retaliation, the disgruntled resident has made a daring move to stop the putrid pile-up – by creating a ‘wall of shame’ exposing the culprits, using CCTV.

According to Cornwall Live, the man lives close to The South West Coast Path between Mylor and the Pandora Inn in Restronguet, and has created the wall of shame on his front door.

A disgruntled Cornwall resident has made a daring move to stop the putrid pile-up of poo being dumped in his bin – by creating a ‘wall of shame’ exposing the culprits

The homeowner, after noticing the bags of faeces building up in his bin, immediately began installing secret CCTV cameras outside of his house to catch the walkers in the act.

The spot is a popular walk for locals, tourists and dog owners – but there is a distinct lack of bins around.

Since installing the cameras, three different culprits have been exposed – even an individual helping themselves to flowers in the garden.

A woman wearing a thick coat and woolly hat was pictured, carrying a plastic carrier bag. No further details were revealed, but the words ‘flower thief’ were printed over the image.

In a laminated print-out attached alongside the pictures, the man typed an explicit message in capital letters for passers-by to read.

It says: ‘Dog s*** wall of shame. There are no bad dogs only c****y owners who can’t be a***d to take take their dog poo home and leave it for the poor binman to deal with.

‘You are being filmed. If it s***s take it home. Don’t leave it for others.’

It appears the wall of shame might not be as effective as the bin owner had hoped, because one of the walkers was caught dumping waste even after the images and note had been stuck up.

It was further reported that one walker who came across the wall of shame was left perplexed by the disgruntled resident’s rant.

They said: ‘Putting it in the bin is better than leaving it on the path. I don’t see what the problem is.’

However, a person who agreed with the homeowner retorted: ‘I wouldn’t like it if it was my bin. Imagine how bad it would smell after a couple of days in the sunshine.

Maybe someone should install a public bin – they’ve got to do something with it.’

The man may have fallen victim to annoying passers-by using his home as a dumping ground – but what happens when neighbours experience a dog-owner using his OWN property to dispose of his pooch’s poo?

In 2019, a dog owner was fined £1,500 after he refused to clear up his pet’s poo from his own garden when neighbours complained about the smell.

Craig Wood, 25, from Benfleet, Essex, had appeared before Basildon Magistrates Court – ignoring five warnings from Castle County Council to clean up the mess – after neighbours complained it was causing a ‘bad smell.’
