Gym bunny takes pics from various angles to show what body ‘actually looks like’

A fitness influencer wants to show her followers that looks can be deceiving.

Liz High – AKA @liz.bitesback on Instagram – took pictures from two angles to show just how different the body can look.

The 21-year-old personal trainer, from London, first showed off her abs with a mirror selfie.

But, in a second photo taken from above in the same orange gym gear, her belly looks less flat than it did before.

The self love guru captioned the post: “The way you see yourself might not be what you actually look like.

“So you look down and your skin folds or, maybe your stomach doesn’t look how you thought it does.

“You then look in the mirror and the way you look changes again.

“It can be hard to establish what your body ACTUALLY looks like.

“But, before you start thinking negatively and beating yourself up about it, I want you to remember that your body isn’t the problem, your mindset it.”

Liz hopes taking the candid photos will encourage her followers to be less hard on themselves.

She added: "STOP picking out things you hate about yourself.

"STOP chasing unrealistic expectations.

"STOP talking to yourself in a horrible way.

"STOP focusing on everything you don’t like in certain angles.

"But – Start accepting yourself at all times.

"Start being proud of who you are.

"Start using your energy to be kind to yourself.

"Start treating yourself how you would treat others.

"Start picking out three things about you love about yourself, or are proud of when you find yourself criticising yourself.

"Because at the end of the day you can change your body as much as you want but unless you change your mindset and start accepting yourself now, you will never be happy.

"Change your perspective and treat your body with kindness and respect because that’s when you’ll truly be happy in your own skin."

Liz's post garnered more than 3,300 likes – and many agreed with her body positive message.

One responder wrote: "This is so important, thank you for sharing."

Another said: "So much love this this. So many people let these thoughts simmer and don’t realise it’s not how others see them."

And a third added: "Thank you so much for this! I’ve struggled with body image issues my whole life and I’m slowly beginning to change my mindset and focus more internally!"
