Home and Aways Poulos family – the stars real lives including triple divorce and baby tragedy

Home and Away became one of the most iconic soaps and it's had viewers hooked for years on the drama it provides.

The show is now one of the longest running drama series ever shown and fans have been laughing, crying or on the edge of their seats along with the cast for years.

From fatal climbing accidents to horrific boat deaths. Home and Away has had plenty of shocking moments and one of the most prolific families, the Poulos, has been there for it all.

So with episodes galore under their belt, we've had a look back at some of the actors and actresses making up the family and this is where they are now.

Ada Nicodemou

Kicking off with a show veteran, Ada has played Leah Poulous for 22 years now.

The loudest out of all the Poulos siblings, she's always in some sort of drama whether that be a wild wedding with Dan Baker to his tragic death in a climbing accident.

Ada has gone on to star in plenty of other things aside from Home and Away including 1999's The Matrix and more.

She has also been open about her personal life.

In a heart-breaking loss, her second son, Harrison, was stillborn and in a statement at the time, she said: "It is with great sadness that we need to share some news with you.

"Our baby boy Harrison was delivered stillborn on Thursday 7 August 2014. We appreciate your love and support as we mourn the loss of our precious son."

Ada and her husband at the time Chrys Xipolitas struggled to conceive and a year after the tragic loss, they divorced.

Now Ada is dating a millionaire named Adam Rigby. She has previously said that when they met, Adam had never watched Home and Away and had no idea who she was.

Peta Toppano

English-born Peta was in the soap for nine years, from 2000 till 2009, playing matriarch of the group Helen Poulos

At one point in her career, she was voted Australia's most beautiful woman but her life has been far from smooth sailing.

She lost her mum in 2004 and with the two being incredibly close, Peta initially said that she "couldn't go back to show business".

After leaving Home and Away, she truly took a step back from the limelight, working behind a counter in a shop for just $17 an hour in Australia.

Now 71, she's been divorced three times: she was formerly married to Kerry Stokes, Barry Quin and to musician Brian O'Toole.

As Peta worked in the shop, her ex Kerry started earning mega money, hitting 620th on the Forbes list of billionaires.

Matt Evans

Matt only joined the soap in 2021 but he's made waves already as young Theo Poulos.

While he now plays Leah's nephew, asking for help after his dad turfed him out for defrauding customers at the family car dealship, many Aussie actually recognise him from something else entirely.

Matt, just 25, was a famous face already due to his time on The Voice.

Sometimes his music is played during an episode of Home and Away and the actor hopes for a full time music career alongside his acting fame.

He loves to sing a love ballad but he admitted to the Telegraph: "I do write a lot of love songs, which is funny because I haven't had many girlfriends and I don't really fall in love very easy.”

Silvio Ofria

Silvio is not just known for Home and Away but also for Water Rats and Grass Roots.

He was the first Theo Poulos, the dad of the family but hasn't appeared in the show since 2009.

Since leaving Home and Away in 2009, he's not done much more since appearing in TV series Rake in 2012 and in a show titled Alex & Eve in 2016.

Alex Blias

Playing Chris Poulos, Alex didn't exactly stand out from the crowd. Often in his sister Leah's shadow, he played the part from 2001 till 2009.

When he took a step back from Home and Away, he went on to become a comedian, appearing at the Melbourn International Comedy Festival and Cracker Comedy Festival.

He's also appeared in Hyde & Seek and Peter Rabbit.

Danny Raco

Danny played the part of Alex Poulos, one of the four Poulos siblings.

He played the role for four years but he wasn't quite done with the show.

He appeared in a few guest episodes in 2007 before turning his hand to becoming a director. However, starring as Alex won him a Logie Award for Most Popular New Male Talent in 2022.
