Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, recently released their Christmas card for 2021. The couple chose a sweet snap of themselves and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, enjoying a family trip away in Jordan. And a body language expert has pointed out how in love Kate and William appear to be in the adorable photo.

Body language expert Darren Stanton told Coffee Friend everyone in the picture is “flashing a genuine smile”.

The “genuine emotion” from the people in the picture suggests it is a “very happy time” for the Cambridge family, Mr Stanton added.

As a couple, Kate and William also look the picture of marital bliss, with both of them appearing very happy to be away on holiday together.

Mr Stanton explained: “Prince William also looks completely relaxed and, perhaps, the most overwhelming and significant part of this photograph is that Kate has her hand resting on her husband’s knee.

“It’s quite a flirtatious gesture for any photo – especially one that depicts a Royal Family and the future of the monarchy.

“If anything, it reinforces the love the couple have for one another and William shows his approval by placing his hand on Kate’s leg.

“Such a personal move, almost restricted for romantic partners, again displays just how in sync the pair are as they match and mirror each other perfectly.”

The Cambridge’s Christmas card also sent a subtle message about how Kate and William view their future royal roles.

Mr Stanton explained: “Kate and Will’s choice in photo could be anyone’s holiday family snap.

“It signifies that the royal couple are going to be very much their own people.

“While they still make sure to be respectful of royal protocols in place, they show a keenness to bring the monarchy into the 21st Century and establish a more personal connection with the public and the public with them.”

Both Kate and William appear to have boosted their public profiles in recent months with a busy diary of royal engagements.

The Queen cancelled several engagements in October and November on doctor’s orders, prompting Charles, Camilla, William, Kate and other senior royals to fill in for the Queen at engagements.

The Cambridge’s Christmas card is just one of many events in recent months where Kate and William have been photographed together in public.

William was present to support Kate at the Together at Christmas concert earlier this month, which the Duchess herself hosted at Westminster Abbey.

The royal couple has also represented the Queen at a plethora of star-studded, high-profile events in recent months.

Alongside Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Kate and William attended the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow in November.

Kate and William also walked the ‘green carpet’ for the inaugural Earthshot Prize Awards in October, a landmark moment in William’s environmental work.

The couple also visited Northern Ireland for a royal tour in the autumn.

And dressed to the nines, the couple certainly turned heads at the premiere of the latest James Bond film, No Time To Die, in September.
