DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER a few too many drinks I fell into bed with an older male pal – now I’m terrified I’ve ruined our friendship for good.
He’s 52, and I’m a woman of 36. We first met at work eight years ago. Despite the years between us we’ve always been so close.
We kept our relationship strictly platonic though. However, things changed last week when we went out for a few drinks together.
On the way home he popped into my house, which wasn’t unusual, but this time the air felt much thicker.
Before I knew it we were kissing. Things very quickly got heated and we ended up sleeping together.
Ever since it happened, I can’t stop thinking about it, but he has been unreachable.
I’ve texted him a few times, but there has been radio silence. I can’t stop worrying. What if I’ve ruined things?

Moving from friendship to romantic relationships can be confusing. It is possible he feels awkward about what happened and can’t face seeing you.
He may simply need some time to figure out his feelings.
