A Romani Traveller has claimed she was bullied at work over her heritage and said the discrimination got her into a fight that left her with a broken rib.
Danielle Jo Lee has racked up a large following on TikTok, where she gives an insight into the Traveller community.
She previously told this site that she is often followed around by security guards whenever she goes shopping.
And she has now explained one horrific encounter at work which led to her suffering a broken rib.
"I was bullied by my co-workers because of my background and being a gypsy," she told Daily Star.
"One of my colleagues attacked me, broke my bottom left rib and cut my eye, cheek and lip open. Just because she didn’t like me. I was fired and so was she."
She also hit back at the people's stereotype that Traveller women don't work and only stay home cooking, cleaning and looking after the children.
"That saying we stay at home all day is just stereotypical," Danielle explained. "I’ve worked since a young age looking after my mother.
"My mother brought up five girls on her own and it was tough. She had to put up with the stress of us moving all the time."
"We never fit in wherever we went, no matter how hard we tried."
Danielle recently shared a video explaining that she loves working.
She also says work and keeping her mind busy helps her when she feels bouts of depression.
"I don't think the pressure should be put on the man to go out and work," she added. "I think everything should be 50/50."
She was flooded with support from her loyal fanbase in the comments section.
“May you continue to rise and become stronger every day,” one viewer wrote.
Another commented: “You are amazing.”
And a third added: “Good for you, well said.”
