I recently had sex on a train – with a stranger.
It was horniest, craziest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I was travelling down to Cornwall to visit my Gran. And the guy opposite asked if he could use my phone as his was out of charge.
We got chatting and then he simply said: “How about it?”
So we went into a toilet and did the dirty deed. He wasn’t particularly good looking or chatty, but the urgent sex was phenomenal and set me on fire.

He got off two stops before me. We didn’t bother exchanging numbers because we knew we’d never see each other again – and I visited Granny with a renewed spring in my step.
Now I’m back home and struggling to settle. That brief encounter has made me question my whole life.
I look at my dull partner of nine years and wonder if there’s more to life than this.
We have sex every other week and it’s always the same. There is no real stimulation or sexy foreplay. He simply grabs a large tube of lube, rubs it all over me and lets that do the work for him.
Oral? Massage? Sweet talk? Forget it. I don’t get any of that. He’s not a bad person. We don’t row and he always pays half of all the bills but, having tasted lust with my dirty stranger, I now crave more. I feel gorgeous.
The other day I went online and looked up holidays in the notorious hot spots of Europe.
I imagine myself flying solo in Ibiza or Magaluf picking up gorgeous guys by the dozen. Dare I do it? Dare I finally live my life for once?
I fear that if I tell my partner how I’m feeling – let alone the truth – he’ll think that I’ve lost my mind. Maybe I have?
JANE SAYS: I understand that you feel frustrated and unappreciated, but would going off with other strangers really be the answer to your prayers?
The fact is that you took a tremendous risk on that train. Having sex with a stranger was a very stupid thing to do.
What about your sexual health, reputation or even the feelings of rail staff or other passengers? You may believe that you experienced a “moment of madness” but it can’t happen again.
I get it that your partner doesn’t light up the bedroom or set the world on fire after nine years together. But he deserves better. He pays his way. Life could be a whole lot worse, believe me.
Talk to him because he might just be as bored and discontented as you are.
Describe the kind of relationship you’d like and work together on making it work.
Seek professional help through Relate if you think it will help. Breaking up after many years together is horrible and stressful for everyone concerned.
Don’t go there unless you must. As for your romp on the rails, does your man deserve to hear the truth?
