A cleaner has revealed the worst things clients do that’ll ensure they won’t come back again.

Victoria, from South Kelsey, Lincolnshire, who is the founder of Pocket Rockets Cleaning Services took to her TikTok @pocketrocketscleaning to share the things people do which ‘irritate cleaners.’

In the clip, which racked up over 17,000 views, she began with a disclaimer saying ‘no offence is intended’.

Some of her top annoyances were when clients follow the cleaner around the house and even claimed some people refer to cleaners as ‘the help.’

She said: ‘Just a disclaimer before anyone starts, if you have a cleaner and you have done any of these, no hate it’s just a bit of fun.

‘Not every cleaner might find these annoying, but this is just personal to me and if you have been a cleaner feel free to add to these.

‘Firstly and my absolute worst one is when somebody follows you around. Like, they have hired you to clean the house but they don’t trust you or they don’t think you know what you’re doing and they follow you around.

‘It’s rude, it’s disrespectful and it’s annoying. If you have a cleaner please do not do this.

She continued: ‘Another one is when someone refers to you in a derogatory way so they might call you “the help”.

‘Or just has an air about them that you are like lower than them, that you work for them, that you are their employer.

‘Like, it’s not the 1920s, you know, the cleaners and the housekeepers, the staff being like the bottom of the lowest of the low.

‘The pond slime. It’s not a thing anymore.’ she added.

Another annoyance is when someone walks over the floor after cleaners just mopped, says Victoria.

She said: ‘When we’ve just mopped the floor and someone comes in and walks all over it or you have just cleaned the kitchen and they come in and make their lunch or you have just washed up and they come and put a few cups in the sink.

‘I know it happens but it is mildly irritating.’

Another one is when they ask you to do something that really isn’t a cleaning job, I’m talking about ridiculous things.

‘I had one lady who asked me to oil her wooden floor, she was like, “Bring your knee pads next week I want you to oil my floors”. I looked at her confused and she said, “Don’t worry I have the oil”.

‘I’m sure you have love, but I’m not a floor specialist. Or I’ve been asked to clean the outside windows sometimes and I’m like, “No mate get a window cleaner”.’

Finally, the cleaning pro said clients shouldn’t ask them to start a new task when they only have a few minutes left of their shift.

Other cleaners were quick to take to the comments to share their own grievances

One said: ‘One husband called me a maid and clicked his fingers at me! Didn’t go back x’

Another said: ‘I hate the, “House looked lovely when i got home, but you missed a cobweb”. It’s one cobweb, couldn’t you just let it go and enjoy your clean home?’

While another said: ‘I literally had a lady, I cleaned for her grandma, and she asked me to basically be her carer whilst I was there. She wanted me to take a stool sample.’

A fourth wrote: ‘one looked at his watch as I was leaving 10 mins early. I said I left 30 late last week. I didn’t charge you. Off I popped. been going to him 10 years.’
