I'm a shopping expert – the exact time to visit Primark for its 'secret sale' and it could save you £25 | The Sun

PRIMARK draws customers in with its bargain prices, but you could save even more cash if you know when it holds its "secret sales".

The high street retailer denies playing host to seasonal sales like its competitors.

In 2021, a spokesperson for the retailer said: "We don’t hold seasonal sales or special discounts because we offer amazing fashion at amazing prices all year round."

But one shopping expert has revealed that Primark does in fact mark down its products.

Plus, The Sun previously spotted signs in shop windows at Primark which advertised reductions in store.

When it comes to sales, Lisa Talbot, an award-winning shopping expert and personal stylist, said Primark does things a little differently to other retailers

She said: "Typically we get the big seasonal sales just before and after mid summer and Christmas, but to be honest, you're never more than a few weeks away from Primark's next store clear-out.

"With such a fast turnaround of stock, mainly weekly, Primark pretty much has a section for sale items throughout the year as a way of moving through stock fast and making way for new collections that come into store."

Lisa says the average spend on a pair of women's trousers, a t-shirt, cardigan and trainers would come to around £55 in Primark, if you paid full price.

But you could bag them for just £30 in the sale, according to Lisa.

As well as knowing when to visit, Lisa said it's also important to know where to look for these discounted bargains.

She said: "You tend to always find a section of each store where the sales are, usually in a pathway that leads to other areas such as the escalators , lingerie or shoes.

"You can also try looking in corners at the back and side of the stores, but always where shoppers have to walk past.

"The sale rail will contain different items, including trousers, denim and dresses, but you'll mostly find just singular pieces, rather than a bunch of the same item."

Lisa added that sale items are usually marked with red promotional labels, so they're easy to spot.

But before buying, it's also important to consider if you can afford it – and remember, it's only a deal if you were looking to buy a similar item anyway.
