Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has been a long-standing cast member of the popular ITV soap, playing the part of Sally Metcalfe, for just shy of 35 years.
And, as a result of the many years the successful actress has under her belt, the 57 year old has learnt lines for many a turbulent storyline, including one centring around abuse in relationships.
Chatting to Inside Soap, mum-of-three Sally, who plays mum to Brooke Vincent and Helen Flanagan's characters, recalled the 1990s plot that saw viewers become flies on the wall during her abusive relationship with character Greg Kelly.
She said: “I remember that it was one of the only storylines I’ve had where I’ve been home at night and thought, “Today was horrendous”. ‘It’s hard going through something like that, spending a day being abused and beaten up, and then coming home to live a normal life.”

Sally, who is an avid cyclist, has a large garden which looks perfect for sunny days and has a wooden table that sits centerstage in the space.
The star’s home also features huge bay windows leading out to the outdoor area, which fans caught a glimpse of as Sally shared a video of herself and her two daughters completing a TikTok dance.
Sally’s daughter, Phoebe shared a look inside the home as she wished her mum a Happy Mother’s Day in March. In the background we see a large fireplace, a keyboard with sheet music resting on top and a picture dotted in the corner of the space.
