If you’re a Coronation Street fan then you’ll likely recognise the name Billy Mayhew.
Billy is currently at the centre of a big storyline on the hit ITV soap, as writers have lined up the first gay wedding in the soap’s 60 year history.
Billy has said his character would be one of the grooms, however viewers will be left wondering whether its his ex Todd Grimshaw or current partner Paul who’ll meet him at the end of the aisle.

Billy is played by talented actor Daniel Brocklebank, and he told the Mirror: “From my perspective, I would LOVE to be part of Corrie's first male gay wedding. "None of the others have followed through – we've only attempted three.
"Two were lesbian weddings and neither happened – the roof collapsed on one and there was a jilting at the other.
“It would be lovely, as a gay man myself, to be part of the first gay wedding on Corrie that actually happens! That would be amazing.”

Who is Daniel Brocklebank?
Daniel Brocklebank, 41, is an English actor who is perhaps best known for his role as Billy in Coronation Street.
Daniel started acting a very young age, and joined amateur dramatic societies at ten years old.
He then took on private LAMDA tuition outside of school and in 1994 he appeared in children’s TV show Brum.

A few years later, in 1999, the star received a Screen Actors Guild Award for his part in hit movie Shakespeare In Love.
Daniel has a huge amount of other acting credits to his name too, including Lord of the Flies, Casualty, As You Like It and Midsummer Murders.
He joined the cast of Coronation Street in 2014 and became a well-recognised face due to his role in some big, hard-hitting storylines.
Back in 2018, the actor revealed his mum had been “disgusted” by his character’s drug addiction on the soap.
Viewers watched as Billy descended into addiction and his life was slowly ruined by decisions he was making, leading to Ofcom receiving almost 100 complaints about the scenes at the time.
Daniel told The Sun Online: “Of course there are some people have been horrified by it, no less than my mother.
"She was disgusted by the whole thing, but I think it’s an important story to tell."

Who is Daniel Brocklebank dating?
Last year, Daniel revealed he’d been banned from a dating site because they thought he was an imposter.
The 41 year old attempted online dating after being encouraged by his mum but said he’d since been put off because of the experience.
He explained on Twitter: “My mum suggested I join a dating site … I did and they banned my profile because they thought I was impersonating myself.”

And he replied: "Nope. I figured it was the universe suggesting it was the wrong move."
Daniel dated co-star Rob Mallard who plays Daniel Osbourne in the soap, and he then went on to date Mr Gay World winner Stuart Hatton.
Currently, Daniel’s relationship status is unknown.
Does Daniel Brocklebank have social media?
Daniel can often be found posting to his 110,000 followers on Instagram, from behind-the-scenes snippets from the Corrie set to selfies and insights into his life away from the soap.
His most reason snap seems him joining all of the Corrie cast for a huge Zoom call, and he pens: “Your average Saturday night on zoom… nothing to see here… can’t wait to see these faces for real!! @coronationstreet Saturday night in.”
