OK! writer Adejumoke Ilori has her say…
If you’re like me then there's a big possibility that after a long day, you look forward to winding down with a bag of Maltesers and your favourite reality show on the deck.
No shame – it's my favourite thing to do. And Highlife has really hit the spot.
Highlife is the boujie Black reality show that I didn't know I needed. It's had me binge-watching, hooked and screaming for more.
Not only is it hilarious, but it's full of drama. It focuses on family expectations, career choices, relationships, wealth, friendships, love and culture.
As a country, we are completely obsessed with Reality TV. Love Island? I’m here for it. The Only Way is Essex? We love the drama. Geordie Shore? What a hit!
But there is always a gap and room for Black excellence. With Highlife, that is exactly what you get.
Catch the next episode of Highlife on Friday at 10pm on Channel 4.
