Inside Laura Whitmores trip to New York City including reunion with BBC colleague

Laura Whitmore has escaped the UK with a trip to New York City following the lightening of restrictions.

The presenter invited fans along on her trip via a series of uploads to her social media channels.

The TV star visited The Edge which is the official highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere.

Before sharing photos from the deck, the star showed off the view from the pavement before she made her way up.

At the top she was joined by fellow BBC colleague Riyadh Khalaf.

The DJ shared a picture of the pair, writing: "As if two huns from Bray bump into each other up here!”

The star later shared a solo snap of herself on the viewing platform, joking: “Got the shot but almost shat myself doing it”.

The TV host previously shared a Sex and the City inspired clip of herself glammed up for a night out at the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards, with the caption: “A New York moment…”.

Earlier this week, the 36-year-old announced she would be jetting off to NYC, sharing with social media: “US is open! It’s been a while.”

Sharing a photo of herself with two Virgin Atlantic air crew, she added: “New York here I come. So excited to be back.”

America has finally reopened its borders to fully vaccinated UK travellers, as thousands jet off to reunite with family and friends for the first time in two years.

Laura has previously described herself as a Yankophile and admits that she fell in love with the US after living across the pond when she was 21.

In 2018, Laura spoke of her experience of living in America as a student, as she revealed: “When I was 21, I studied in the US for five months…

“In my final year of journalism at Dublin City University, we had the option to go abroad and everyone went to different places, but for me, it was always going to be Boston…

“I loved the idea of this student city — home to dozens of universities, including Harvard — known for its big Irish contingent. It was a great opportunity.”
