TWITTER is among the most popular social media networks where users can post and interact with messages known as "tweets."
On November 8, some users reported technical issues when attempting to run the app on their mobile devices.
Is Twitter down?
On Monday, November 8, according to DownDetector, over 50 percent of users were reporting a problem with Twitter's website.
Over a third of users experienced issues with the app, and 11 percent reported problems with logging in.
"twitter isn't working properly," one user commented on Down Detector's Twitter page. Another person noted that the top tweets featured on their page as working, but the latest tweets were not.
Most of the outages appear to be in larger cities – mainly, New York and Washington DC.
When else has Twitter been down?
There have been various problems and outages for Twitter in September so far.
Downdetector has reported the following issues with Twitter, including logging in through their website or on their mobile device:
- September 1 at 6.33am
- September 1 at 8.13pm
- September 2 at 6.21am
- September 2 at 4.29pm
- September 9 at 9.01am
- September 17 at 2.41pm
- September 20 at 12.09pm
How can I check if Twitter is down?
Folks who want to check if their Twitter account is fully operating can try to log into their accounts.
If the message, "This page is down. I scream… You scream… We all scream… for us to fix this page. We'll stop making jokes and get things up and running soon," appears, then the site is down for you.
However, despite an uptick in outages, some users are not reporting any issues with Twitter and have full access to the site.
Users can also check Down Detector to see if others are experiencing similar issues with the app.
