The news comes off the heels of the family home being raided by armed robbers before Christmas.
Mark Cavendish reported that he and Peta were threatened and assaulted as their home in Ongar, Essex was raided in front of their young children.

The attack came just six days after Cavendish suffered two broken ribs and a collapsed lung in a horrific crash in Belgium.
Three men are due to stand trial later this year, having pleaded not guilty to the robbery.
Peta revealed that when there’s trauma it’s not uncommon for your body to go into protective mode, to ensure that the pregnancy is safe, which is how she explains not having any early symptoms.

She said that she doesn’t like to deliver big news whilst he is away and so waited four or five days to tell him the huge news.
She said: ‘I’m never someone who’s going to make a cute announcement video – I’d be more likely to frisbee a positive test across the room, so I said: “I’m about to turn your world upside down,” and straight away he said: “You’re pregnant?” I said: “Yep”, and he said: “I’m never going to be able to retire, am I?!”‘
Peta, with Frey and Casper, describes how her and Mark and working together to navigate the aftermath, especially with the children in different age groups
Peta touched upon the robbery saying that it’s not something that they will completely get over, especially because the children were there.
She is focusing on getting them the support they need and is aware that they are looking towards her and Mark to guide them through this.
She said: ‘We’re getting support with the kids and we’ve all worked together on it. I’d been a strange one to navigate, especially with children in different age groups.
‘They all have very different needs and that’s probably been the biggest challenge.’

Cavendish suffered a collapsed lung and two broken ribs in his crash during the Ghent Six Day track event on November 21 2021.
The Manxman, who was racing in the Madison with Deceuninck Quick-Step team-mate Iljo Keisse, saw world champion Lasse Norman Hansen crash in front of him.
But he could not react in time, rode into the Dane’s bike and was sent flying.
He stood and waved to spectators, but was put on a stretcher and taken to Ghent University Hospital, where he spent a night in intensive care.
In a separate statement on Twitter, Cavendish wrote: ‘In the early hours of November 27, while recovering at our Essex family home shortly after leaving intensive care, four masked and armed men forced their way in to our home as we slept, threatened my wife and children and violently attacked me. At knifepoint, they proceeded to ransack our belongings.
‘Amongst what was taken were two watches of great sentiment and value. But far, far worse to be taken was the sense of security, safety, privacy and dignity that my young family and everybody else is entitled to in their own home.
‘The effect that this nightmare has had on my family is already heart-breakingly evident, so I beg anybody who may be able to help us with information to call 101, quoting reference 42/275184/21. Thank you.’
