DEAR DEIDRE: IT is four years since we started dating but I’m sure my boyfriend is hiding something from me.
I fear I’m being played. He is 36 and I am 28.
He lives and works here but has a place in his home country and travels back there every few months.
He never FaceTimes me from inside his home when there. Instead, he ducks out to take my calls in the shed, garage or garden, which is weird when he claims to live alone.
He has met most of my family but has never introduced me to his relatives or even allowed me to speak to them.
This is now becoming a real issue for me. But how do I handle it?

DEIDRE SAYS: Don’t ignore your intuition – it is clearly telling you something is not right.
Decide what you want, then call him out, and don’t let him make the same old excuses.
Unless he is willing to be honest and potentially change, you have answered your own questions about the extent of his commitment to you for the future.
Work out what are your red lines and stick to them.
Don’t be afraid to walk away if he won’t or can’t give you the relationship you deserve.
