Jarrod Bowen one of five players who joined the 100 Club™ this weekend

THIS season’s 100 Club™ has some new members after the weekend.

The FA Cup third round fixtures enabled five players to push their Dream Team points tallies into three figures, something eleven assets had achieved prior to Game Week 19.

Bernardo Silva (£3.5m) was the first through the ropes on Friday night when he was named as part of a strong Manchester City starting line-up at Swindon.

The Portuguese playmaker opened the scoring in what became a regulation 4-1 win for Pep Guardiola’s side, his eighth goal of the season in all competitions.

Bernardo’s owners would have welcomed the return with some relief after enduring a relatively lean spell of five points in five games between Game Week 15 and Game Week 17.

Since then, the 27-year-old has bagged 12 points in two games and is once again the second-best midfielder in the game having moved onto 106 points – his team-mate Riyad Mahrez (£6.9m) remains top dog but won’t be adding to his tally while he’s on international duty.

The Algerian may be more worried about losing his crown to James Maddison (£3.4m).

Leicester’s No10 has racked up 90 points in the last ten games – an explosion of form that rivals Mohamed Salah’s (£8.2m) best streaks this term.

He’s scored seven goals (his latest coming against Watford on Saturday) and provided five assists in his last ten outings, a prosperous spell that has also produced four Star Man awards.

It’s a truly remarkable turnaround, Maddison was on -1 points at the end of Game Week 8 after a thoroughly miserable start to the campaign.

That was it for 100 Club™ inductees on Saturday but they came thick and fast on Sunday.

Virgil van Dijk (£5.5m) didn’t exactly make a grand entrance as Liverpool failed to keep a clean sheet against Shrewsbury at Anfield but all he needed was three points which he achieved by virtue of a 7+ rating at the end of the 4-1 win for the Reds.

The Dutchman became the sixth defender to bring up his century though the superstar full-backs, Joao Cancelo (£6.2m), Reece James (£5.9m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£6.2m), remain in a league of their in the 140s.

Like Liverpool, Tottenham also went 1-0 down to lower league opposition but ultimately progressed to the next round.

Lucas Moura (£3.7m) scored the second of the hosts’ three second-half goals to earn eight points and tick over to 101 overall.

The Brazilian has spread his six goals of 2021/22 across four different competitions: Premier League, Carabao Cup, Europa Conference League, FA Cup.

Six goals and three assists may seem like a respectable yet unremarkable return from 25 fixtures but the 29-year-old has scooped five Star Man awards to bolster his returns significantly – only Salah has more Star Man awards to his name at this stage.

Many Spurs players have had their mentalities questioned in relation to knockout games but Moura seems to always have the right attitude and it would be very surprising is Antonio Conte had failed to notice that.

Finally, Jarrod Bowen (£3.9m) stepped over the velvet rope after banking 13 points against Leeds on Sunday.

The wide forward was involved in West Ham’s controversial opener when he was deemed not to have been involved in the play from an offside position despite hindering Illan Meslier’s (£2.1m) attempt to recover a loose ball in the box.

However, that incident was irrelevant to Bowen’s Dream Team performance as he earned his points through a late goal and a deserved Star Man award.

This was the third double-figure haul the Hammers’ No20 has returned since Game Week 14.

A key player under David Moyes, Bowen has now scored six goals and provided eight assists this season – hence his impressive tally of 101 points.

Maddison, Bowen and Moura are now all among the top five midfielders Dream Team has to offer.

There are no fewer than 12 players hovering between 90 and 99 points at the time of writing so Dream Team bosses can expect plenty more players to reach three figures in the coming weeks.

The floodgates have well and truly opened.
