Jessica Mulroney has hinted at her battle over the past year, after she found herself at the centre of a Black Lives Matter race row which subsequently sparked rumours of a rift with former BFF Meghan Markle, and saw the stylist axed from several TV shows.

The Canadian stylist, 41, from Toronto, took to Instagram to share a poignant post which read: ‘The past can lead to depression, the future can lead to anxiety, so try to live in the present.’

The post racked up 7,000 likes among her 413,000 followers, with one follower commenting: ‘@goodmorningamerica bring her back’.

The mother-of-three, who is married to the eldest son of Brian Mulroney, the 18th Prime Minister of Canada, saw a swift rise to fame after her daughter Ivy featured as one of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bridesmaids in 2018.

However her fall from grace was even faster, after she was accused of using her ‘white privelege’ to ‘threaten’ a black influencer, which saw ABC axe her from her role as fashion contributor on Good Morning America and marked the end of her reality show.

The Canadian stylist, 41, from Toronto, took to Instagram to share a poignant post which read: ‘The past can lead to depression, the future can lead to anxiety, so try to live in the present.’

The influencer’s friendship was also subject to rumours of a rift, but a source later told the Daily Mail that the duo are ‘in regular contact’, blaming the distance between Canada and California for ‘making things difficult’.

In August Mulroney said that her life is ‘happy again’ after finding ‘hope’ through ‘sobriety and therapy.’

She wrote: ‘I’ve struggled with anxiety and social anxiety my whole life.

‘I’ve masked it many times and this year has been heavy for all of us. Know there is hope. I’ve found it through sobriety and therapy. My life is happy again. I wish this for you all. Thank you for your love this year.’

In a caption which she shared to her 415, 000 followers which accompanied the post, Jessica explained that despite speaking about mental illness for years, she ‘never thought’ she’d have to endure ‘intense treatment’ the way she did this year.

The post racked up 7,000 likes among her 413,000 followers, with one follower commenting: ‘@goodmorningamerica bring her back’

She went on to say how she doesn’t ‘blame anyone’ and is just concentrating of working on herself.

‘All the pain is now in the past,’ she continued. ‘Sending all of my followers who have loved and supported me through this journey. It can be lonely having the world, friends distance from you and not even ask how you are. But, thankfully, you find the things that truly matter…’

It comes shortly after Jessica shared a cryptic post about ‘losing friends and finding better ones’ – months after her friendship with Meghan Markle was said to be on the rocks  following the stylist’s racism row.

The stylist posted a lengthy quote on Instagram at the end of June, which read: ‘Life changes. You lose love. You lose friends. You lose pieces of yourself that you never imagined would be gone.’

Last year the Canadian stylist took to Instagram to share a poignant post which read: ‘I’ve struggled with anxiety and social anxiety my whole life

She went on to say how she doesn’t ‘blame anyone’ and is just concentrating of working on herself

The quote continued: ‘And then, without even realizing it, these pieces come back. New love enters. Better friends come along. And a stronger, wiser you, is staring back in the mirror.’

It comes after Meghan stayed silent as Jessica found herself at the centre of a Black Lives Matter race row in 2020 when she was accused of using her ‘white privilege’ against a black social media influencer.

It was reported last year that the Duchess had cut ties with Mulroney after influencer Sasha Exeter accused the stylist of ‘threatening her livelihood’ when she posted a Black Lives Matter call-to-action on Instagram.

The Canadian fashion stylist was accused of ‘racist bullying’ and abusing her ‘white privilege’ to threaten the career of a black social media influencer.

Sasha alleged that Jessica ‘took personal offence’ when she asked bloggers to use their platform to advance the Black Lives Matter movement and that private messages between the pair had left her ‘paralysed with fear’.

Mulroney later faced accusations that she had used Meghan as her ‘superpower,’ though denied this was the case and refused to speak about the Duchess in interviews.

A source had claimed their friendship is no longer ‘what it once was,’ adding this was not due to the fall-out with Exeter, but because they have ‘just grown apart.’

The insider added: ‘Of course, Meghan has been worried about Jess. She’ll always have love for her.’

However, Mulroney told Page Six in November that she and Meghan are ‘constantly’ in touch via FaceTime.

The stylist assisted Meghan in choosing a wedding dress for the actress’ Suits character, Rachel Zane, in 2015.

Jessica Mulroney recently shared a cryptic post about ‘losing friends and finding better ones’ – after her friendship with Meghan Markle, 39, was said to be on the rocks following the stylist’s racism row last summer

A source had claimed Meghan and Jessica’s friendship is no longer ‘what it once was,’ adding this was not due to the fall-out with Exeter, but because they have ‘just grown apart’

Jessica’s friendship with Meghan was not the only aspect of her life that suffered as a result of the controversy.

Having quickly shot to fame thanks to her close friendship with the Duchess of Sussex, Jessica’s fall from grace was even swifter.

DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that ABC had quickly severed ties with her, confirming that Jessica would not be returning to her occasional role as a fashion contributor on Good Morning America.

Canadian TV network CTV also distanced themselves from the stylist, revealing that it was pulling all episodes of her wedding-focused reality show I Do Redo from its platforms ahead of its expected US premiere on Netflix.

It was claimed last August that the Duchess of Sussex was reported to have cut ties with Jessica after black influencer Sasha Exeter (left) accused her of ‘threatening her livelihood’ after ‘taking offence’ at a Black Lives Matter video posted by the online star

She then stepped down from the board of directors of The Shoebox Project, a charity that she founded with her sisters-in-law, Caroline, Vanessa, and Katy Mulroney.

In a statement shared on Instagram, the charity said: ‘Jessica Mulroney is a founding member of The Shoebox Project and she has dedicated herself to its growth and success over the years, for which we are very grateful.

‘In light of recent events, the charity supports Jessica’s decision to step away from the Board of Directors.’

Jessica’s husband Ben – the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney – then stepped down from his role as the host of CTV’s celebrity news show ‘etalk’, a position that he had held for 18 years.
