Job hunters claim asking ‘scary’ question during interviews can get you the role

A TikTok user has shared the key question you should ask your potential employer during a job interview.

Usually, the end of interviews are offered as a chance for job hunters to flip sides and ask their interviewer’s a question.

This can often be just as important as what you have said so far and, according to Dan Vasudevan, there is one key question you should pose.

In a video seen more than 2 million times on his account @dantechtok, he explained you should ask: “Based on what we’ve talked today, do you have any hesitancy with hiring me?”

Dan said that, while it seems scary, it works because “if they say they have a concern then you can fight for yourself and prove you’re a good candidate”.

After the clip exploded online, the TikToker was flooded with comments about how to pose the question.

In an updated video, he said: "Let me start by saying that this is kind of a scary question to ask, but it gives you a great idea of how you did in the interview and if you will get a job offer.

"In my opinion you want this to be the last question you ask – at least that's how it worked out for me."

He then acted out a brief scenario to show how the question could be posed.

"So for example, the interviewer might be like, 'So that about wraps up our interview, is there anything else you wanna address?’” he said.

"And this is when you say, 'Yeah, so I think we covered almost everything but based on what we've talked about, do you have any hesitancies with hiring me?'

"And the interviewer will either say, 'Great question, I really didn't have any hesitancies with you.'

"Or they could say, 'You didn't really meet many of the requirements, so this job might not be a good fit'.

"Either way, the point is you know how you did in the interview, and if they do bring up concerns, you can defend yourself right away."

Dan says hundreds of people have used the question to great success and it even led to himself getting a job offer.

One viewer said it shows that you have confidence, can take criticism and have difficult conversations – all of which are critical to being successful in any position.

Another said: “This question works wonders.”
