Josie Gibson’s life as a single working mum: ‘It’s an absolute juggle’

We know it can't be easy being a working single mum, and Josie Gibson has revealed the challenges she faces as she opens up on motherhood as a single mother.

The 37 year old tv presenter, who rose to fame on Big Brother after winning the show in 2011, gave birth to her son Reggie-James in September 2018.

It seems Josie has been doing an amazing job of raising her only child on her own, with Reggie-James now three years old, but Josie revealed to OK! that it isn't always the easiest job, and just how she manages to juggle it all.

When asked how Josie juggles motherhood and work, the star claimed "Well, put it this way, I’ve just had to drive my little boy around the block to get him asleep to do this interview, and I’ve just taken him up to my local gym. My cousin’s up there and he’s keeping an eye on him in the pool.

"It’s an absolute juggle but I make it work. If you’re worried about having a baby, you’ll always make it work, it just happens – you just make it work."

Josie admits single motherhood was never her plan, but she is taking it in her stride…

Speaking to New! Magazine earlier this year about her relationship with Reggie-James' father Terry, Josie said “I never wanted to be a single mother, obviously, but there are things you can't let go. So I hope I will smash life as a single mummy. Lots of other women do it.

"[Terry]'s got OCD and just after Christmas, he went mad about too many of my shoes being in the hallway. So I kicked off and said, 'Well, we'll go then!' and he went, 'Alright!' and bagged up our stuff."

The single mum revealed to the Mirror that despite her long working hours, she doesn't get many lie ins.

"Reggie is only three so I never get a lie-in – not even on weekends," she says.

"We’re always up early but we just like to chill at the weekends. It’s Reggie time – we do whatever he wants to do, which usually includes eating out!

"We live in Bristol but we love going out in Bath and we always have a roast dinner on a Sunday. We tend to go out for it, but I do cook a very good roast dinner.

"Reggie and I are lucky because we get an extra-long weekend and spend Mondays together too. He goes to nursery from Tuesday to Thursday so I get to spend a good few days with him."
