The Flight Attendant sees Kaley Cuoco’s character Cassie get up to all sorts of mischief –heavy nights of drinking, casual sex, covert investigations, and waking up in a hotel next to a dead body.
As fun as that sounds, the actress did admit to feeling nervous about the sex scenes – especially because her co-star Michiel Huisman had come off a show known for them, while she had just come off The Big Bang Theory, a family-friendly sitcom.
Appearing on a Hollywood Reporter roundtable chat with Watchmen‘s Jean Smart, Master of None‘s Lena Waithe, Shrill‘s Aidy Bryant, The Incredibles‘ Holly Hunter and How I Met Your Mother‘s Cristin Milioti, Kaley opened up about how odd she found it.

“I had never done any sort of sex scene ever, and I had one in Flight Attendant with Michiel,” she recalled. “He’d been in Game of Thrones, so he’d done all these scenes, and I just had no idea.
“When they called ‘cut,’ I’d be hovering over him like I was on a toilet. I’m like, ‘I’m not touching anything, I’m not looking at anything’. I didn’t know what to do.
“[Michiel] was like, ‘You’re acting so weird. You’re making this way weirder than it needs to be.’ But I was totally out of my element.”

Elsewhere in the roundtable, Cuoco joked that she did miss certain elements of sitcom production, stating: “Where is the audience? Why isn’t anyone laughing? I need people just to clap for me 24/7.”
Cuoco also reiterated a statement she had made elsewhere recently, that she would have happily continued playing Penny for years to come, and is totally fine with knowing that she will always be known as Penny.
The Flight Attendant has been reupped for another season, with a couple of notable changes on the way for season two of the thriller.
