Kate Middleton and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall have one key thing in common – they are both married to a future King. Has that helped their bond?

Camilla joined the Royal Family following her wedding to Prince Charles in 2005.

Just six years later, Kate became a working royal as she married Prince William.

Both women are senior royals who have represented the monarch multiple times.

This has included some joint engagements, although the two women are rarely alone without other members of the family.

Analysing pictures of the royals together over the years, body language expert Judi James suggested there is warmth between them.

However, they may seem more comfortable when the future King Prince Charles is also in attendance.

She told Express.co.uk: “The pair do clearly speak and exchange warm smiles.

“But it is Charles who seems to ‘light up’ the dynamic when he is present, cracking jokes and looking animated while Kate wrinkles her nose in a laugh of genuine humour and rapport.

“William and Camilla enjoy the fun from a slight distance.

“In many ways it looks as though it might be their shared affection for Charles is the prime tie that binds the two women.”

She suggested Prince Charles and Kate seem to get on well.

The affection Kate clearly feels for her father-in-law could be one big thing she has in common with Camilla, Judi claimed.

Kate and Camilla both have growing roles in the family as their husbands are likely to take the crown in the future.

This is sure to be something they have bonded over while in the Royal Family.

However, Judi claimed there are still some signs of tension on their faces when the two royals are together.

She suggested Camilla often appears “anxious” in public and this has been seen when with the Duchess of Cambridge.

Judi concluded: “Some of these photographs with Camilla show Kate not wearing her signature smile.

“Her closed lips do show signs of the kind of muscle tension that makes them look pursed.

“Camilla does often appear to be slightly anxious in public though, especially when she appears without Charles beside her.

“This facial tension could be down to mirrored or reflected tension for Kate.”
