Kevin Costner ordered to pay estranged wife $129K a month in child support, more than double his proposal

Christine Baumgartner is “relieved” after a judge ordered estranged husband Kevin Costner to pay almost $130K a month in child support.

Speaking about the ruling, a source told People on Thursday that the handbag designer “only wants to take care of and support her children.”

The insider continued, “The divorce is not their fault. She doesn’t want them to suffer, or experience negative life changes because of it.”

Baumgartner, 49, had previously argued that she needed $248,000 a month to care for their children. Costner, however, said she could manage with $52,000 a month.

But, on Wednesday, a judge ruled that Costner would be paying more than $129K a month.

The California Superior Court judge also denied the actor’s request to settle the matter of child support before the former couple’s November 27 trial date, which will determine if their prenup agreement signed in 2004 is valid.

“It’s all stressful for Christine, but she is trying to stay positive, ” the source further told the outlet.

Despite the huge decision, the “Yellowstone” actor skipped the court hearing due to a “pre-planned” vacation with his kids — Grace, 13, Hayes, 14, and Cayden, 16 — in British Columbia, Canada.

Baumgartner had filed for divorce from the movie star in May after 18 years of marriage due to “irreconcilable differences.” They both then filed for joint custody of their children.

However, things got messy between the two when the “Bodyguard” actor alleged his ex was only asking for extra child support to fund her personal expenses, such as cosmetic surgeries.

Documents obtained by Page Six previously showed the actor’s forensic accountant found the designer spends around $100,000 on the procedures.

But Baumgartner — who hasn’t had a job since 2007 — argued their children needed the funds to avoid a drastic change in their lifestyle, which includes assistants to help with schedules, food prep, grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning.

She claimed that her estranged husband makes enough money — including $65,000 per month for renting out his beachfront property, according to documents obtained by TMZ — to make the payments she desired.

On top of their child support, the couple was arguing over Baumgartner’s refusal to move out of the “Hidden Figures” actor’s $1.2 million home.

Costner claimed that their prenup declared she had 30 days to leave their home.

The designer, however, insisted she couldn’t do so because she didn’t have enough money for a suitable home for her and the children.

Honoring the agreement, a judge ruled that she had until the end of the month of July to pack her things.
