Lidl is selling posh tonic that looks like Fever Tree but costs almost half the price

LIDL is selling a pack of four Indian tonic water for £2 – and it looks a lot like posher Fever Tree ones but more than £1 cheaper.

Fever Tree tonic water normally costs £3.17 but it's on offer for £2.70 at Sainsbury's.

The budget retailer has also launched three new flavours – Mediterranean, elderflower and aromatic – but they're only available in Scotland and Ireland.

For now, Lidl shoppers in England will have to stick with the normal and light versions of the tonic, which come in packs of four.

But if it's value for money you're after, then you can get a litre bottle of Indian Tonic water for 37p at Asda.

Lidl can also be beaten on price for it's tonics as well as it's gins.

Tesco is currently selling an eight pack of fever tree for £3.75, which is 25p cheaper than buying two of Lidl's four packs of tonic.

Sainsbury's is selling a 700ml bottle of Gordon's dry gin for £14, and if you go to Tesco you can get a bottle of Gordon's sloe gin for £14.

But Lidl's Original London Dry Gin beat Sipsmith and Gordon’s in the Good Housekeeping Institute’s blind taste test, it might be worth paying an extra £2 for what might be a better gin.
