Lidl shoppers are rushing to buy ceramic egg BBQ that's a dupe of Big Green Egg but £675 cheaper | The Sun

LIDL shoppers are rushing to buy a ceramic egg BBQ dupe that's 84% cheaper than the real thing.

The discount supermarket is selling Grillmeister Mini Ceramic BBQs for £119.99.

These are £675 cheaper than the Big Green Egg alternatives which cost £795 for the entry-level BBQ.

Posting on the BBQ Life Ireland Facebook group one shopper said: "I got one on Wednesday night, and she is a grand job, at the price point its absolute class.

"Not everyone can drop serious money on a ceramic BBQ, I totally recommend this lad for the reasons stated above."

Another said: "They are fabulous! For a quick one or two person cook – the egg is the bomb.

"I got one a few weeks ago it’s brilliant," said a third shopper.

The BBQ is proving extremely popular and shoppers will need to get to stores while stocks last.

If you don't know where your nearest branch is, you can use Lidl's store locator on its website.

SWEET DEAL

B&M shoppers are rushing to buy ‘nostalgic’ sweets based on iconic 90s brand

You just have to enter your town or postcode and it will bring up the closest store to you.

The barbecue itself comes with a stainless steel grate, two adjustable air vents and a thermometer on the lid so you can keep a check on how hot your food is.

Customers can achieve temperatures of between 110 to 370 degrees Celsius with the power of charcoal.

Lidl's offer is an absolute bargain but you should always have a quick shop around first as you might be able to find a similar product cheaper elsewhere.

Always remember that prices vary by brand, size and retailer so it's worth having a browse elsewhere before you make a decision.

Use price comparison tools like Google Shopping to find similar products from other retailers and compare prices.

Lidl's ceramic BBQ is the cheapest we've seen available right now.

Robert Dyas sells a similar ceramic BBQ for £259.99 – but that's still £140 more expensive than the Lidl buy.

It's important to always remember that these bargains are only a good deal if you need the item in the first place – if you get it just because of the offer, you aren't necessarily saving money.

How can I save money when shopping at Lidl?

Lidl reduces items at the start of the day and the best deals can be found between 7am to 8am, when most stores open.

Shoppers can often find cooked meats, salmon fillets and breads reduced by 30% or more.

Not only does Lidl have its own range of reasonably-priced alcohol, it also does its own knock-offs of branded favourites – so say cheers to its bargain booze.

Everyone knows about the "Middle of Lidl" – it's here where you'll find a load of random stuff that you didn't realise you need, at decent prices.

But if you're hoping to avoid spending more than you planned to, you can check what is going to be in the "Middle of Lidl" on the supermarket's website in advance.

This is a great way to plan your trip and only get the bargains you need.

The Middle of Lidl is refreshed every Thursday and Sunday.

Shoppers can also keep tabs on what's appearing in the "Pick of the Week" section on the Lidl website.
