Pop group Little Mix will embark on a brief hiatus once they wrap their spring 2022 Confetti tour.
“We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix,” began a statement released through the group’s official Twitter account.
“It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects. We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much.”
The group went on to assure fans that they would eventually reunite, tweeting, “We are not splitting up – Little Mix are here to stay. We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more.”
“We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever. See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie,” the statement concluded.
The temporary split may be due to two group members recently becoming new mothers, as Perrie Edwards welcomed her first child with boyfriend, English footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, back in August.
“Welcome to the world baby 21/08/21 ♥️,” Edwards captioned two black-and-white photos of her newborn at the time.
Days later, Leigh-Anne Pinnock announced that she and fiancé Andre Gray had welcomed twins — just days before Edwards gave birth.
“We asked for a miracle, we were given two… 🥺🖤,” Pinnock wrote on Instagram along with a black-and-white photo of her newborns’ tiny feet. “Our Cubbies are here 😍🖤16/08/21 🖤.”
