Love Island has given us weddings and babies, sassy one liners and a whole lot of heartache – but is there anything better than a bromance?

Over the years, plenty of hopeful singletons have passed through the villa doors prepared for new beginnings and certain drama.

But there's one element the show simply couldn't function without – the adorable bromances forged in the blazing Majorcan (and South African) sun.

Every single year, the friendships make the show what it is, from Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay's disconcerting (and, in the end, rather catchy) raps to Tommy Fury and Curtis Pritchard's unlikely bond.

Ahead of the new series later this month, here are some of the best bromances to come out of the Love Island villa.

Series three: Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay

Their friendship was anything but a 'little bit leave it' and it quickly became clear that Chris and Kem were going to be a duo for the ages.

Their time in the villa involved them shaving their names into each other's pubic hair, giving each other a spoon when they needed a little pick-me-up, and even a smooch for one of the villa games.

And that's not even to mention their unexpected (and heartbreakingly short-lived) music career, with their undeniable bop Little Bit Leave It.

Series four: Jack Fincham and Alex George

A pen salesman and a doctor? A match made in heaven if you ask us.

Jack and Alex bonded over some pretty weird stuff (racing fake babies in prams around the pool comes to mind) but were each other's biggest hype men.

Series four: Josh, Jack and Wes (the Do Bits Society)

The boys delighted fans with their hilarious David Attenborough-style body language observations and infamous DBS meetings.

Their short drama skits around the pool had viewers crying with laughter.

Series six: Luke T and Luke M

The pair were late arrivals to the villa, walking in alongside one another as a treat for the girls and a threat to the boys.

Their status as newbies solidified their budding friendship, and the 24-year-old heating engineer and 22-year-old semi-pro footballer frequently confided in one another about their crushes.

They were cuddly, they asked each other how they were feeling and displays of toxic masculinity were entirely absent.

Yes, we basically whimpered at the sight of Luke T stroking Luke M's leg and back to keep him warm as they chatted with the lads on the day beds.

Series five: Curtis Pritchard and Tommy Fury

Curtis and Tommy were especially close on Love Island and even had their own reality show – The Boxer and the Ballroom Dancer – afterwards.

The Love Island favourites formed a solid bromance during their time in the villa and even took it to the next level after sharing a kiss.

Unfortunately, the pals no longer speak, perhaps down to Curtis splitting with Molly-Mae's bestie Maura.

Series five: Ovie Soko and his bucket hats

Name us a more iconic duo.

While Ovie was best pals with pretty much everyone in the villa, the real stars were him and his bucket hats.
