Lydia Bright documents her curly haircut as she debuts gorgeous ringlets

Former star of reality showThe Only Way is Essex, Lydia Bright, showed off her gorgeous ringlets onInstagramas she shared the latest step in her curly hair journey.

The reality star and mum of one has beenembracing her natural curlssince the start of the year, and has been embarking on a journey to help her naturally curly hair become more defined.

Her latest step was a specialist curly haircut, which she got done at the hair salon Curl Talk, which specialises in providing bespoke services and education for their customers' individual curls, kinks, coils and waves.

Before and after photos on the salon’sInstagram accountshow how they help clients’ curls become smoother and more defined, and help them to embrace the natural curl pattern that forms in their hair.

Lydia appears to have got a blunt bob that skims her shoulders, with her highlights being even more pronounced now her natural ringlets are more defined.

Since January, Lydia has taken her followers along with her as she finally decided to start accepting her naturally curly hair, giving her fans updates and tips along the way on how she’s been encouraging her natural curl patterns to form after years of straightening, brushing, and dyeing.

In March, Lydia shared a video where she revealed which products she’s been using to help her achieve a more defined curl pattern.

Captioning her video: “As promised, my Curly Shirley Hair Routine. This year, I started a little hair journey after years of my mum practically begging for me to embrace my natural curl. These are all products my followers have recommended and advice from fellow curly girls, so I’m passing on the love…”

Lydia uses the Cantu Avocado Hydrating Shampoo,£5.60 here, and Conditioner,£5.60 here, to wash her hair, before applying the Only Curls London Curl Creme,£8-£42 heredepending on size, and Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls,£36.07 here, to soaking wet hair which is what helps her curls form whilst still wet.

Applying products to soaking wet hair is also the secret to helping curly hair stay hydrated and allowing your natural curls to form.

The former reality star then says she leaves her hair to dry naturally, for around 10 minutes before applying the Only Curls Curl Gel,£8-£42 heredepending on size, which allows her curls to keep their shape for longer.

The next step in her routine is to blow dry her hair using The Remington Ionic hairsryer with a diffuser,£22.99 here, which is the secret to avoiding accidentally straightening or smoothing out natural curls.

Lydia said: “I only dry 80% then leave the rest to dry naturally as otherwise, I frizz.” She also reveals she tries to sleep in a satin hair wrap, like this Cantu Satin Sleep Tie Bonnet,£6.30 here, most nights to help her curls hold their shape.

Although some commenters were quick to point out some flaws in her routine, many praised Lydia for sharing her tips with them, and some said that working with your curls is an ongoing learning process, admitting their own routine is constantly changing.

As the video was posted back in March, Lydia asked her followers on her Instagram stories if they would like to see an updated version of her curly hair routine, writing: “Return of my natural ringlet. I get so many messages RE my hair journey. Would you like to see an updated curly hair routine?”

Lydia shared a poll alongside her question, and got a resounding 98% yes vote in favour of an updated routine, so keep your eyes on her Instagram, as we suspect she’ll be giving another tutorial soon!
