June “Mama June” Shannon is reportedly helping out daughter Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell amid her cancer diagnosis – despite the two not having much of a relationship.
“June and Anna were slowly working on building back their relationship about a year ago, but Anna’s recent stage 4 adrenal carcinoma diagnosis has rapidly brought the pair even closer,” a family source told TMZ on Sunday.
The insider added that Mama June is “stepping up” to care for her daughter after she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer – including going to her doctor appointments together.

“June immediately knew she had to be there for her daughter after the diagnosis, and feels the past is simply in the past,” the source added. “She’s now doing whatever she can to help, including watching Anna’s kids.”
Cardwell’s rep did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
The mother-daughter duo initially had a falling out two years ago after June, 43, dated Mark McDaniel in 2021. June and McDaniel have since broken up and she married Justin Stroud in a secret courthouse wedding in May 2022.
Cardwell, 28, seemingly approves of Stroud, as she walked her mom down the aisle in her second wedding in February.
Late last month, Cardwell’s youngest sister, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, confirmed speculation that her older sister had secretly been battling cancer.
“& this is what I mean when I say you never truly know what somebody is going through at home. no matter how famous they are,” Alana wrote via her Instagram Story on March 30.
The former “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star added that people “need to realize” that despite being “very famous,” “normal s-–t happens” to her and her family.
Cardwell has since been undergoing chemotherapy and revealed she lost her hair in “chunks” after just one treatment.
The reality TV personality first learned of her health battle in January after undergoing tests for severe stomach pain.
