Man rocks unique hair after donating it to the Little Princess Trust

Ring the changes! Man debuts VERY brave circle of hair all the way around his head and chin after shaving off his locks for charity

  • Stu Turner, 36, from Cardiff, donated his locks of hair to Little Princess Trust
  • Auctioned what his new hairstyle should be, and his brother was highest bidder
  • Had to shave head and beard so that it looks like he has a ring of hair around face

A civil servant has had Britain’s worst hairstyle – with a ring of hair from the top of his head to his chin.

Stu Turner, 36, from Cardiff, has been dubbed ‘Ring Head’ after he braved the shave to raise cash for charity.

The bizarre haircut features only a ring of stubble around Stu’s head while leaving the rest bald.

Stu opted for the unique hairstyle after he grew his locks in lockdown and decided to donate his hair to The Little Princess Trust.

The charity uses real donated hair to make wigs for children who have lost theirs from cancer treatment or other conditions.

Stu said: ‘It’s certainly been an adjustment. It’s definitely a bit colder than I’ve been used to. I can feel a draught a lot more easily than I could before.

‘At the beginning of the first lockdown I said I wasn’t going to cut my hair and beard until we were back working in the office, but what I expected to be three months turned out to be 18 months – so I had a lot of hair to lose.

‘Having had a beard on my face for most of my life, I can tell you that nothing really prepares you for the feeling of your own breath on your chin.’

Stu has also raised over £1,000 for both The Little Princess Trust and Cancer Research UK.

The charity donner, who raised £1,000 for the Little Princess Trust, auctioned off what his new hairstyle should be to the highest bidder. His brother won and went for this unique pick

The haircut was carried out at Andrea’s Salon in Roath and took over an hour to complete.

Stu said: ‘I went out in town the other day, and my hair went down really well. I started getting quite a lot of respect from people, which wasn’t really expected.

‘The strangest thing was that some people didn’t assume it was a charity thing or a bet that I’d lost, a lot of people thought that I had some sort of new, trendy Generation Z style haircut.

‘When I’m walking around, I’m still quite thankful for my face mask as I’m not quite ready to subject myself to the comments I’d get from some people.

‘But when you do something like this, you’ve got to accept that people will stare, that’s all part of making a fool of yourself for a good cause.’

Stu, pictured, said people have been surprisingly appreciative of his new haircut, and think it’s a new Gen Z trendy hairstyle

Stu, who said he’s worked with the Little Princess Trust charity before, was laid back about his new haircut

The hairstyle was chosen by the bidder who donated the most to the cause – with a £316.25 pledge sealing the deal for the ‘circle hair.’

Stu added: ‘It was my brother who chose this haircut and when everyone saw his idea they all jumped on board, because it is the worst possible thing that you could imagine.

‘It became the outright leader very, very quickly and nothing I could say or do was going to change it – I wouldn’t have minded something a little less embarrassing, like the pineapple.’

He added: ‘The Little Princess Trust and Cancer Research are both fantastic causes – I’ve raised money for them a couple of times before and they do amazing work.’

The charity provides wigs made of real hair, free of charge, to children and young people up to age 24, who’ve lost theirs.

Created in 2006, the Trust works with trusted salons to approve and fit the wigs, making sure they are as close to the child’s natural hair colour as possible.

Made of real hair, the wigs can be styled and cut to fit the person’s style of choice.

Now Stu only has to wait for the hair to grow back. But he said he accepts that some people will make fun of him while it does
