A man travelled 10,000 miles across the world – just to meet his virtual girlfriend for the first time.

Korean Yang Seok, 28, never met his flame Luiza Vitoria Ribeiro until he trekked the other side of the world to see her.

The couple dated virtually for months with the help of translation apps and by studying English.

Yang took four flights and a 150-mile taxi ride from South Korea all the way to South America to meet the 20-year-old.

Now the smitten pair have nearly a million followers on social media as they've documented their cute love story.

After arriving in north-eastern Brazil, the loved-up pair continued to use voice translation to communicate.

Luiza said: "I don't speak Korean and he doesn't speak Portuguese, so the translator app helps us communicate."

Although the couple are struggling to understand each other, Yang and Luiza are certainly loved up.

"He said he wants to learn Portuguese and is already trying to speak a few words," Luiza added.

The young woman claimed they met on an English conversation platform and started out as friends.

But one thing led to another, and eventually, that friendship evolved into something more.

Luiza explained: "In August, he asked to date me and we dated from a distance, by video call.

"Two months later he said he would organise to meet me in person."

Yang left his native Jeju Island, south of Korea, and took four planes to reach Fortaleza in Brazil.

Then he travelled 150 miles in a taxi to Sobrai, in Ceara, where Luiza lives.

Speaking about their story, she added: "At first I didn't believe it, until he arrived and we met.

"It was magical to be able to be with the person I like."

Now the pair have almost a million followers on social media where they share their adventures together.

He is reportedly planning to stay in Brazil for three months, then will return to South Korea to get another visa.
