Margaret Qualley, Shia LaBeouf’s ex, shows support for FKA Twigs

Shia LaBeouf and Margaret Qualley reportedly split amid abuse accusations

Margaret Qualley has doubled-down on her support of FKA Twigs, who has accused their shared ex, Shia LaBeouf, of abusing her physically and emotionally.

“I believe her,” the 26-year-old actress told Harper’s Bazaar, when asked about the sexual assault and other accusations leveled by the musician against the “Transformers” star.

“Unfortunately, it’s so common,” she said when asked how she prepared for her role in the upcoming film “Maid,” in which her character suffers emotional abuse.

“And it’s true that more than half of people experience some level of psychological threat within a relationship in their lifetime. I just did my best to read the script and experience Alex’s reality as much as possible within the scenes.”

Qualley dated LaBeouf while filming “Maid,” and broke up with the actor weeks after Twigs, 33, filed a lawsuit against him for sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress, the New York Times reported.

Shortly after their split, Qualley shared her first public display of support for the artist by posting a photo of Twigs on the cover of Elle magazine, in which the “Cellophane” singer accused LaBeouf of “systematic” abuse.

“Thank you,” Qualley captioned her post at the time.

When asked by Harper’s why she felt the need to share that post, the actress responded: “It was important to me for her to know that I believe her — and it’s as simple as that.”

LaBeouf has since denied “each and every allegation” in the lawsuit. He had previously told The New York Times via email: “I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel.

“I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”

Qualley was recently spotted making out with Jack Antonoff in New York, while Twigs moved on with The 1975’s Matty Healy.
