Mary Berry’s recipe for style! TV chef, 85, puts on a VERY colourful display in floral blazer and neon pink top as she watches men’s singles match at Wimbledon with daughter Annabel Bosher

  • Watched Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz play against Russia’s Daniil Medvedev
  • Donned pink top and floral blazer as she cheered from royal box on centre court

British chef and television personality Mary Berry put on a stylish display as she arrived at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London today.

The TV chef, 85, donned a bright pink top which she paired with a floral patterned blazer and wore her hair perfectly coiffed in a neat bob, accessorising with just a dainty pearl necklace.

Dame Mary sat alongside her youngest daughter Annabel Bosher in the royal box on centre court as she watched Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz play against Russia’s Daniil Medvedev during their men’s singles fourth round match on day eight of the tennis competition.

The cookery author, who was named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list last October, attended just one day after Emma Raducanu’s Wimbledon adventure ended in tears on Monday night.

The 18-year-old from Kent was forced to retire from her fourth round match against Ajla Tomljanovic at 6-4, 3-0 down, in some distress.

The official reason of ‘difficulty breathing’ was given, and that looked to be case as she sat, frazzled, at the changeover.

She was led off court and, following an assessment, Assistant Referee Denise Parnell came back out to give the news that the breakout star of SW19 would not be returning.

Elsewhere, The Duchess of Cambridge has been forced into self-isolation after coming close to someone who has tested positive for coronavirus – despite having no symptoms herself, both her vaccinations and testing negative four times in the past week.

Kate is understood to have been alerted personally and was not ‘pinged’ by the NHS Test and Trace app, leaving the All England Club at 5pm on Friday – significantly earlier than she has done in previous years – and missing the match involving her friend Andy Murray.

She was alerted after taking her seat next to the Duke of Kent and in front of Body Coach Joe Wicks, but left ‘immediately’ after being told she had come close to someone who tested positive for coronavirus, according to The Times.

It means she must quarantine for ten days even if she tests negative, which she has, up to four times, in the past seven days.

Kensington Palace said in a statement: ‘Last week The Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for Covid-19.

‘Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home’.

On Friday Kate spotted looking serious as she was driven out of Wimbledon’s gates heading for Kensington Palace, where she is holed up today and unable to leave – even for food or medicine.

She is not permitted to have visitors in her home, including family and friends, and will even have been told to avoid contact with anyone she lives with as much as possible.

Her absurd quarantine prevented the Duchess from attending the NHS’ 73rd birthday celebrations with William at St Paul’s Cathedral and Buckingham Palace yesterday.
