Mind-boggling optical illusion tells you to stare at circles for a few seconds

Optical illusions are made to baffle the brain.

They can use colour, light and patterns to create images to really deceive and mislead our minds.

Now if you think you've got enough patience, see if you can understand what's going on here.

Contact lenses specialists Lenstore are the masterminds behind the latest optical illusion.

It asks people to stare at the different circles in the image and then see what happens next.

The picture is an example of illusory motion which is when, in this case, the circles appear to move even though they're not.

What can you see in this optical illusion? Let us know in the comments section below…

There is no explanation for illusory motion, but some scientists think it's because involuntary eye movements play a key factor.

That's because they give an illusion the objects you're staring at are moving when they're not.

Others think the motion detectors in your visual cortex get "confused" by changes in neurons which give the illusion of movement.

Recently, a baffling optical illusion with a hidden number went viral.

One confusing image which was shared on Twitter has left people very stumped.

It shows a black and white circle with a number hidden within it.

At first glance, you might see the number 45283, but on closer inspection it appears to be 3452839 – at least to some.
