Brits have been loving exploring the country during summer as they got to know the beauty spots closer to home.
And, many have fallen in love with the stunning beaches of the UK – some so much so that they’re looking to buy a holiday home.
Beach huts are a popular style which doesn’t take up much room and can be renovated more easily than a normal house or apartment.
But, if you thought they were cheap you might want to look away now…
A new beach hut on Mudeford Spit at Hengistbury Head, in Dorset, has gone up for sale for an enormous £350,000!
That’s more than the average house price in the UK by around £100,000.
If the beach hut sells for its asking price then it will be the most expensive property of its kind in the country.
The wooden shack sits on the sought-after beach alongside other expensive properties.
It’s listed as being fitted out to a high spec and is able to sleep six people – four on mattresses on the mezzanine and another two on the ground floor.
Built in April 2021, the whole place is brand new and features solar panels, electricity, a working kitchenette, under hut storage and a living area.
The hut has direct access to the sea and the harbour – taking ”beachside location” to a new level – and is just a short walk from the popular Beach House cafe, reports Dorset Live.
The high price could be due to the increased demand for UK holidays during the pandemic and the hut could be used as a cracking rental property fetching around £1,000 at peak times.
Plus, the shacks on Mudeford Spit are renowned for being pricey with a previous sale going through for £330,000.
Agents Denison’s shared photos of the gorgeous interiors which are decorated in cream and natural wood.
The kitchen is powered by bottled gas and has a fridge inside.
While the lounge and dining area gives you views of the Isle of Wight and the Needles.
Unfortunately, there are no bathrooms in the hut and the nearest loo is the public WC and shared shower facilities.
The agents have noted that the hut has quality insulation and is built using fire clad boarding and fire retardant plasterboard.
Plus, there’s one more condition – huts in the area can only be slept in from March 1 to October 31 and there are resident’s fees which can mount up to the thousands annually.
Car passes can be bought under special circumstances, but usually the huts are only accessible by foot, land train or water.
You can find the property on RightMove.
