MONZO is down with customers unable to make payments or access their accounts with just hours to go until Christmas day.
According to website Downdetector, problems started around 4pm this afternoon, with more than 1,300 complaints quickly logged by users.
Initially the majority of reports were centred in London, but soon problems were being experienced in Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham among other areas too.
Some 65% of reports related to mobile bank and 25% are about online banking problems.
Angry customers took to Twitter to berate the bank for the failure so close to Christmas.
One said: "Like there could be a worse time for it go down?!"
Another added: "Any estimates on when [it will be fixed]? Lots of people need to buy things today."
One worried customer asked: "What's going on? All my online transactions are being declined, even though there's money in my account."

Monzo tweeted: "We're so sorry about this! We're aware of an issue affecting the Monzo app – rest assured we're looking into it and trying to get things back up and running as we speak. Thanks for your patience."
But many customers are concerned about the impact of the technical issue.
One tweeted: "I think this is more than just the Monzo app, nothing seems to work. My transactions are being declined including Apple pay."
Challenger bank Monzo launched in 2015 and quickly became popular with younger users due to its easy to use app and brightly coloured cards.
According to Statista, the bank had grown to 5million customers by February this year.
The Sun has approached Monzo for comment and we will update this story when we know more.
Monzo is not the only bank to suffer technical issues this week.
Nationwide building society customers had problems for two days, leaving many waiting for their wages and unable to make payments just days before Christmas.
Customers demanded compensation as they incurred charges for missed payments and direct debits.
