A mother has revealed how she avoids getting make-up stains on her clothes by using hair spray to create a protective barrier.
Alicia Baily, from Essex, boasts over 1,000 followers on TikTok and an additional 42,000 on Instagram, where she posts under the handle @tiredasamother_ab.
The mother-of-two has gone viral after claiming she covers her clothes with hair spray up to 20 minutes before putting them on to prevent makeup stains while getting dressed.
She left many viewers impressed and eager to try the hack for themselves, however critics warned garments could become more flammable if they are covered in hair spray.

Posting on TikTok, Alicia demonstrated a beige blazer from Primark being covered in hairspray around the neckline
Alicia has racked up over 200,000 views on her viral video as many people are able to relate with the challenges of keeping light colour clothes from stains such as lipstick and foundation.
She captioned the post: ‘Quick hack to stop makeup going on your clothes . #hack #makeuphack #clotheshack #clothinghack #quickhack.’
Alicia showed a beige blazer bought from Primark spread on her bed, as she demonstrated the importance of spraying the neckline with hairspray.
The mother-of-two recommended leaving the hairspray to dry for between 10 to 20 minutes before wearing the garment.

She told commenters that she uses the hack also on white clothing to prevent makeup stains.
She explained the trick should work with any brand of hairspray but said she uses Wella Silvikrin Firm Hold Hairspray.
A flood of commenters praised Alicia for sharing the hack as they admitted to having struggled to keep their own clothes clean.
One person wrote: ‘I have so many light blouses with make up stains! Definitely trying this!’
